Hello to anyone who may lay eyes on this blog, maybe by accident, or because you were specifically looking. The point is, I thought I would start this blog off with a brief (or maybe not so brief hang with me) introduction about myself and my purpose with this blog. I’m not going to give away specifics like my name or age for security reasons, but I will say that I am a male and I am currently a freshman at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. To begin the background, I grew deep in the heart of Fort Worth, not in Dallas. But don’t for a minute think that hints that I am less hardcore. I consider myself not only a fanatic of the great game of basketball, but also as a “Jesus and the Desciples” type follower of Mavericks basketball specifically. Coming from a former player, as I played throughout my school years and Varsity in High school, I consider myself the most competetive person I know. Naturally, growing up in a family full of natural athletes, I was an easy sucker for the adrenaline filled game at an early age. I am explaining this particularly because of the way that it ties into my eventual need for a favorite team. I found the Mavs in a period of heavenly timing, quickly learning as much as I possibly could about the team. Playing and following a team helped develop compassion, and slowly over time, an overall love of the game. I am creating this blog for many reasons; to share my knowledge of basketball and The Mavericks through my experiences, to progress the MFFL hashtag and to connect with potenial and current MFFL’s, and to test out my first attempt of any form of journalism as a potential career route. After listing these main reasons, there is one main goal or value that I feel is my responsibility as the controler of The Official #mffl blog: to illustrate and be an outlet to the great game of Basketball. With the crew of usual suspects and some new faces, Mavs fans its time to start getting excited about the upcoming 2015-2016 season!
