why did i have a dream where i met jp/ego and for some reason he manipulated me into sticking around and therefore became public enemy #1 and my brother tried to run him over. what.
i believe that critic should be shot out back. but not behind jp's shed, i wanna do it myself. get that man over here he's being eviscerated.
If you're going to leave something on a cliffhanger, which is something ALL writers should do, you should definitely leave it at the climax of the final conflict. Make it so the readers will be left wondering "what happened," while you sprint off with your ill-gotten book-selling funds, never to actually make another book that addresses anything.
Oh, and ESPECIALLY do not make it so that the cliffhanger has any significance to the story's themes, plot, or any other sort of tie-in that would make it remotely meaningful! No, just leave the story dangling for no reason! Could we have tied in the cliffhanger at the climax to themes of unfullfilment and moving forwards in life, or at least making our own paths that make us happy? NO. The cliffhanger should come out of NOWHERE and have NO meaningful reason to be in the book OTHER than the fact you're banking on hooking suckers— I mean, READERS, into getting attached and begging for more. This definitely works for books that are NOT pre-established series with a lot of credentials.
I think we should be able to hunt the side characters for sport.
"What side characters?"
:)

rebrand because I just wanna twuhpost on this blog without it being innerconflict related.
i think the twablr community should start inventing episodes of TWA. (tagging them as not real, though. obviously.)
Oh Mr. Critic, you so silly! So goofy! Clearly this is just a result of your disgust towards JP, right...?
Right...?
