another year has come and gone and life got on the way, i could not attend as many film festival screenings as i would have wanted to but maybe i just saw what i was intended to watch.

as you might guess from the 10+1 films that define my year [2013] i seem to have become obsessed with movies featuring struggling and stumbling [one might even goes as far as to think i'm obsessed with these words], this list includes even more characters facing death but above all trying to face life.

another year ends and as the list-obsessive i am i present to you [the reader] another list; “the [extra] 10+1 films that define my year” - [released in an arthouse circuit or film festival].

a single mother, an only child and the unavoidable changes they both must endure.

growing up isn't easy, letting go is even harder and this film is as funny as it can get without becoming outrageous or ridiculous, it showcases strong emotion but fortunately never feels [or is] melodramatic.
