!! SPOILERS FROM CHAPTER7 DREAMSCAPE AND CHAPTER8 !!
I find it very shocking at how the fandom moved on so fast from the crucial detail of Meleanor's failed arranged marriage to the Prince from The Land of Red Dragons in Chapter7. While I know this was made as a gag at how Meleanor is so stubborn in her choices she will literally jeopardize a political marriage for true love [slay girl I love you for that too], I genuinely feel like that detail holds a lot more weight with the added historical context in Chapter8.
My personal theory is that the Prince was part of the Diurnal Fae species and this marriage was meant to stabilize relations between the two factions and eliminate potential territorial threats. It's a bit shaky, but let's put things into perspective:
The Nocturnal Fae, coming from the north of VoT, from the mountains that are inhabited by dangerous Dire Beasts, went to war with the Diurnal Fae who lived in the currently-occupied-by-the-Draconia-royal-family territory for a more propserous living situation and won. They settle in and for many centuries, up to a millennium, things are stable, they flourish and develop as a nation, but as time goes on, the threat of invasion is becoming an issue with how much territory they now have, so they have to start making alliances. Since we haven't been told if there are more Nocturnal Fae factions [and if there are, they clearly closed themselves off to the world at large], that leaves them as their closest neighbors the folk they kicked out of their homeland. It isn't easy to just knock on their door and admit that they're shaking in their boots at the possibility of having something similar done to them, plus it would show that they are collapsing on themselves, giving anyone the opportunity to strike, so they have to make it seem like a political arrangement and it works out somewhat! Through an arranged marriage, it gives a chance for the Diurnal Fae to somewhat return to their original home and the Nocturnal Fae gain manpower [faepower?] and expand their allyship. But of course, Meleanor effectively ruins everything, marries a duke from her own kingdom and so it all barrels into the Human-Fae War.
I read from a couple of folks from the TWST fandom saying that the way the Diurnal Fae chose to ally themselves with the humans in the second war mirrors a couple of historical events, and I find it VERY CONVENIENT that the humans started to get bold around the same time the Meleaverne union happened. I can guarantee that the Diurnal Fae either foresaw the Nocturnal Fae coming to them for negotiations knowing that maintaining such a kingdom takes a lot more than just survival of the fittest should they last more millennium to come and waited, or they were planning for something, wondering how they can get their home back and woke up to a sudden marriage proposal and tried to lock it in for good. And then it didn't happen and took desperate measures that ended up destroying their careful preparations more than they actually hoped for.
It would make a lot more sense why The Senate was so upset with the Meleaverne union. Like they would have been very okay with their Princess marrying someone from their kind than marry an outsider, much less someone from their faemade enemy, but because they NEEDED the alliance in order to stabilize their kingdom's power, they had to have this union go through without a hitch.

I look at chapter 13 and what the boys had to be done to defeat Malleus and snap him from his OB, makes me question what the hell do we have to defeat OB Grim?
They used the power of Styx and made armor so they could have a fighting chance against dragon Malleus. They had to break Malleus' horn to stop him, what is going to happen with Grim that he's more dangerous than Malleus.
You saw his health before the prologue.
What the hell is going to happen in Book 8? How bad will OB Grim be? How dangerous will he be?
One neat thing about the dreams in the Diasomnia arc - as we know, spellcasting depends on imagination. The stronger one's imagination, the better you are as a mage. And whose dreams are the most detailed of the ones we see?
