Kisses Meme; Send a word for my muse to react to!
Cool Breeze:Our muses just made up from a horrible fightâand the relief turns into kisses in the kitchen at 2 in the morning.
The fight may have started in the kitchen but it had been brewing for the better part of a week.
Wanda and Buckyâs relationship was obviously the best kept secret inthe Avengers because no one seemed to know they were together. It wasnât that they tried to keep it secret, it was just that they were both such private people they didnât feel the need to tell everyone they had feelings for each other. Vision was another part of that, Wanda didnât feel right sharing moments of affection with Bucky when the android was present. In fact the only person who seemed to know Wanda and Bucky were more than just friends was Steve and that was only because he knew Bucky better than anyone else.
There wasnât one particular thing that caused Wanda to shut Bucky out but more lots of little things that eventually led to her last straw. The team had been sent on a mission that was considered âtoo delicateâ for her wayward abilities which meant sheâd been left in an almost-empty compound. Then complications meant the mission was extended for a few more days. In an attempt to distract herself Wanda had given her room a thorough clean which had led to her finding a couple of photos of Pietro, which in turn had led to her sitting on the bed and crying for hours.
Wanda had missed Bucky, his laugh, his kisses, his stupid smirk that made everything seem just a little better. She missed him and he was radio-silent for the mission. She was going out of her mind with boredom interspersed with moments of melancholy, and she couldnât even get a decent nightâs rest because he wasnât there to make the bad dreams go away. By the time he returned her nerves were more than a little frayed from insomnia and being left alone with the dark places of her mind, and then he had to debrief Fury on the mission, leaving Wanda wondering what to do with herself while she waited for him.
Collecting his bag from the quinjet Wanda began to sort his washing, at least heâd have nice, clean clothes when he found her. It wasnât until she began folding the dried garments that she found them. A pair of Black Widow underwear in Buckyâs size. Lip quivering slightly she tried not to dwell on it, folding the rest of his clothes as quickly as she could, but not before sheâd found a couple more pairs sporting the red hourglass. Laying his clothes out on his bed for him Wanda ran back to her room before anyone saw her, locking the door behind her before flopping down on her bed.
She knew he was there, standing outside her door wondering if he should knock. Heâd stopped by three times already, knocking on her door before trying the handle. He had lingered a few moments, calling to her softly, only to eventually walk away. After what seemed like forever she heard him ask her once more to open the door, it was almost like he knew she wasnât sleeping, but again he left her alone. Wanda couldnât sleep that night, she tossed and turned thinking about Bucky and Natasha, and what little sleep she did find were full of nightmares.
Morning was hard, sitting at the table in the seat furthest from Bucky she rubbed at the dark circles under her eyes. Bucky frowned but said nothing, he knew better than anyone what a rough night looked like, it didnât mean he didnât worry about her though. Wanda was more that happy to hear Clint announce it was time for their training session, quickly washing up her plate before racing after the archer, eager to leave Bucky and his questioning eyes behind.
A rough training session was just what she needed. Her body ached and she knew sheâd have a some new bruises in a few hours time, but it was a touch of normality and she welcomed it. After a hot shower she was starting to feel more like herself, right up until she walked into the main living area.
Bucky was sitting beside Natasha, the pair laughing like old friends. His arm was on the couch behind her, her hand brushed his forearm when she smiled. Had they always sat that close together? Good mood gone Wanda turned right back around and walked out of the room, not noticing Buckyâs hurt gaze following her retreating form.
For days Wanda avoided Bucky, especially when Natasha was with him. The worst part was she couldnât bring herself to hate Natasha. The redhead didnât know Wanda had fallen for Bucky, and Natasha had helped her so much with training and just helpingher find her place in the Avengers. She actually admired Natasha but that didnât make it hurt any less. Bucky was the first man sheâd ever really loved. Vision was, well she guessed it counted as a crush but things were different with Bucky, he understood her, he knew all of her, even the dark little places she didnât want people to see. He got under her skin and now she couldnât get him out, but now she was losing him and she knew there was nothing she could do to stop it. She was treading water in the middle of the ocean, eventually she knew sheâd drown, it was inevitable, but for now she was still struggling to keep her head above water.
Wanda woke up just after midnight, a nightmare leaving her more than a little shaken. Getting out of bed she padded barefoot to the kitchen, maybe a drink would help. Opening the fridge she poured herself a glass of cold water, almost dropping it when she heard a voice behind her. Closing the fridge she turned to head back to her bedroom only to have him block her path, finger flicking the lights on.
âWhy wonât you talk to me?â Tortured eyes stared at her, boring into her. âTell me what I did wrong.â It was the closest heâd been to her since he left on the mission and all he wanted to do was gather her into his arms and never let go but she looked like a startled bunny ready to bolt so he held back, waiting for her to make the first move.
âBecause history always wins.â Wanda muttered, setting the glass of water down so she could wrap her arms around herself. He didnât understand, they were fighting and he didnât know why and nothing she was saying made any sense.
âYou love her.â Tears slowly began to fall down Wandaâs face, the girl backing away as he advanced until she was cornered against the kitchen bench. âIt doesnât matter if you remember her or not, eventually you will and I canât stay here waiting for you to realise you prefer her.â
Now Bucky was really confused. âWanda, sweetheart, who am I supposed to love? I donât understand.â His big hands cupped her pale cheeks, human and metal thumbs swiping the tears from her cheeks as she hiccuped more to fall down her face.
âNatasha.â
The word hung between them like so many broken promises, like the shattered pieces of her heart. Closing her eyes she waited for him to come to his senses and leave her, to go running to Natasha, but he didnât. Strong arms wrapped around her, pulling her against his strong chest.
âI hate to tell you this doll, but youâre kinda stuck with me, faulty memories and all.â Placing a kiss to her hair he held on tighter, metal hand rubbing soothing circles on her back. âMe and Nat, we were in a bad place and being alone together took the sting out of being alone by ourselves. It made a bad situation bearable, thatâs not us any more. Thatâs not me any more, and that is entirely your fault so youâre stuck with me.â Tilting her face up to look at his he placed a soft kiss to her lips. âNow mind telling me why you thought I was trying to rekindle things with Nat?â
Wanda bit her lip, ducking her head to press it against his shoulder. âI did your laundry, you have Black Widow underwear.â Her voice was muffled slightly by his shirt but he still caught her words.
Pulling away he snorted with laughter, gripping onto the bench to keep himself upright. Wanda fixed him with a glare, she was exhausted from her nightmares, emotionally torn and now he was laughing at her. Holding up a hand Bucky took a few more moments to contain his laughter. âWanda, doll, those were a joke from Sam.â Wrapping his arms around her once more he brushed his nose to hers. âBut I promise, first thing tomorrow Iâll head down to the stores and get a whole pack of Scarlet Witch boxers. Gotta support my girl right?â
Biting her lip Wanda wrapper her arms around his neck. âOnly if you get me some Winter Soldier ones while youâre at it.â Wanda felt his soft groan, his hands gripping her hips just a little tighter to let her know he really liked that idea. Lifting her up he set her down on the kitchen bench, slipping between her parted legs so he could devour her lips properly.
Pulling back he fixed her with a curious gaze. âWhy, who are you wearing?â Grabbing the hem of her sleep shirt he lifted it up to see star-spangled shields on her underwear. âTraitor! And with my best friend too, you little minx.â Laughing he kissed her again, heâd missed the taste of her lips.
âWeâre âTeam Capâ.â Wanda retorted, pulling him closer as her legs wrapped around his hips. âWould you prefer I wore âTeam Starkâ?â
Bucky pulled back to glare at her. âOkay, first thing tomorrow Iâm going through your drawers and if I find any Vision underwear Iâm burning them. Then Iâm going to the store to buy Scarlet Witch underwear for me.â Wanda snorted with laughter only to be silenced by him throwing her over his shoulder. âBut these are coming off, now. Traitor.â One hand tugged at her Captain America underwear as he carried her to his bedroom, the little witch laughing the entire way.
