If your sock uses two yarn sources (and you have a slotted topper/yarn carrier) you have more options with your work. I am working a two yarn source sock (a black yarn and a self striping yarn). I finished the colorwork and started working the heel in just the black but first secured the color yarn by clipping it inside the sock and then hanging it’s yarn path out of the way on the topper. The black yarn is the current working yarn so it goes from its source into the topper with heel spring (as per usual) then down into the yarn carrier then the machine.
