Yeah this is so true!!! Kakashi didn't really look like Kakashi in that episode? But it was similar enough that I can somewhat imagine his face under the mask? But at the same time I also can't connect the masked Kakashi to the unmasked Kakashi, which I figured was weird and just some part of my imagination, but you've put it into words, so thank you!
Ahhhh welcomes! :) I love hearing agreement on this post. I thought I was only one of few for a long time before making it.
Hello! I'm finishing my last year of high school and I really want to study computer science in college (actually I can't decide between physics, engineering and that but I want to study all of them so much) and I was wondering what does studying cs in uni entail? Like, I've googled but the information is all kind of vague. What should I look for in colleges if I aim to study cs and what sort of skills/attitude should I have? (Do I need to know any programming languages? Which ones?) Thanks!
I think that the reason why you get some vague answers for what studying computer science entails is because itās not an easy question to answer. Computer science is very broad so it is hard to summarize it down to a couple of sentences.
In my opinion, computer science is mainly its computational problem solving. A large majority of what you do is, given a problem, you solve it. You look at the different ways to solve it, to find the most efficient way. The problems you solve can cover a wide range of fields, like AI, security, and what not. The problems you solve can be very abstract and theoretical, or they can be more concrete, with practical applications. Youāll notice that I have not mentioned programming. Thatās becauseĀ computer science is more than just programming. Sure, you might take a course or two that teaches programming, but quickly programming becomes a tool that you use to learn computer science. One of my profs made a point of rarely compilingĀ code we wrote during lectures. He said that it doesnāt matter if it compiles or if the syntax is correct, what matters is the logic and thinking.
Getting a degree in computer science involves learning how to solve problems. You study mathematics. You learn about algorithms, data structures, software design, networking, etc. Itās a very diverse field. But in general, if you like solving problems and you are interested in building cool things with code, computer science might be for you.Ā
When looking at colleges for cs, look at if they fit within your budget, look at the range of courses they offer so you can study the stuff you are interested in), and see if they offer help in getting you internships and other hands-on experience. Frankly, Iām not an expert in choosing schools, since Iām only familiar with the Canadian schools.Ā
In terms of skills/attitudes, Iād say get good at problem solving, which means being able to look at problems in more than one way, getting better at making connections between different pieces of information. Learn to not hate math. (You donāt need to love math, or even be a genius in it. But you need to get used to the idea that you will be doing math). Learn perseverance. Most of the time, you'll get it wrong the first time round. You need to be able to stick through it in order to find a solution. Learn communication and teamwork skills. You have to able to share your ideas clearly and work with other people. CS is one of those things where you just need to work with others. You will get stuck, and you will have to turn to others for help. The stereotype of the lone programmerĀ is a myth, trust me. Learn to think abstractly. Most of the stuff you learn are not concrete things but rather concepts that exist in your mind. A good example of this is object orientated programming.Ā in OOP you donāt actually donāt create an actualĀ āobjectsā but thatās a way to think of it in your head. Iāve seen a lot of people struggle with OOP because they canāt wrap their head around abstract ideas.Ā
Obviously, these things are gained with practice. But going into university, you should have the mindset where you willing to fail, willingly to learn, and willing to help others.Ā
Finally, I think that a large majority of schools assume you have zero programming knowledge when you first start. You can start uni with no programming experience and still do fine (given you work hard and pay attention in class). That being said, it truly does not hurt to learn a bit before you start. If you can, figure out which programming language they teach at your college of choice and start learning that. Otherwise, it doesnāt really matter which programming language you start with. (Honestly, you could start with the click and drag programming offered by code.org and still end up learning a lot). That being said, if you donāt know where to start, why not start with python?
Well, I hope that answers all your questions. If you have any more, feel free to message me. :)

If Iām being honest Iām not actually invested enough in Loki to have good answers for this but I will post this just 4 u bc it is 3am and I am awake
their blog url: thekingwillconquer
the kind of posts they reblog: Thorās posts with what his bro thinks are supportive comments but theyāre really subtle shade, misinformation, startling personal ambitions, jokes about the Avengers, Loki apologia postsĀ
the first person they followed: Odin (unfollowed and hacked)
what kind of theme theyād have: if itās his own itās gold and green but he changes his theme to exactly mimic that of an Avenger every so often to confuse peopleĀ
what kind of text posts they make at 2am: this one?
To tworollsofparchment, I promise I will post the scans of the bison template as soon as I can, Iām not staying at home at the moment but I will be tomorrow!! Sorry for keeping you waiting!
Do you have directions on how to build Sherlock's bison skull from cardboard? I saw a pic of the half completed one online but scrolling down to the specific post would take a very long time. Also, do you know the dimensions for the skull?
All of my progress photos for the Sherlock bison skull I made can be found here, but I apart from that I didnāt follow any directions? I made the pattern up for it as I went along following a mixture of set photos and reference photos from other bison skulls I found online, but if you were going to try and make one I would gladly offer any advice and try to help out any way I can! My bison skull is 36cm long, 15cm wide (43 with horns) and 16cm high (28 Ā with horns) although I would guess that the set one is a bit bigger than this as headphones are slightly too small on mine.Ā
If you or anyone else out there is interested in making one very similar to mine, I did trace all of the cardboard pieces I cut out in to a sketch book which I can scan in and post online if you want, but I donāt know how helpful they would be, my notes are atrocious D:
