While Severus did make a habit of looming about the dungeons, he did not often do so when he knew that Gryffindor students were around. The travelled in packs and while it wasn’t that it made him nervous - he, too often, was alone. However, he had a special purpose today. A reason. To be waiting outside the potions classroom, shifting edgily as the seconds ticked by. 

Sirius groaned from his bed. He did not want to get up and go to the damned engagement party for Narcissa. He knew what that entailed -- fancy dress robes and manners. And everyone looking at him like he was scum.

As his sister came to rouse him, he squeezed his pillow over his head.

“ I just want to die. “

SO DISPLEASED. Loves you. BUT SO DISPLEASED.

“Help me.” Sirius groaned as he dragging himself trough the door of Ceara’s flat towing with him an adorable bundle of dark hair and dimples that cooed and squealed, clapping tiny, chubby hands together as she spotted her aunt and leaned out of his arms towards her excitedly. Behind him James and Harry filed in, Harry walking around the flat with shaking steps, clumsy young hands doing their best to tear the place apart as their tired Dad’s collapsed onto the couch, Sirius stretched across it over James as he looked up at his sister. “They’re out to get us.” He moaned dramatically.

So does this hatred of Barty mean that you’d prefer Severus?

Honestly, Ceara, is the bar set so low for your options that you resort to wondering if Severus Snape is preferable to Barty Junior?  You’re the Daughters of the House of Black -- why aim for the scraps rotting on the floor when you have the full feast of eligible men spread out on the table before you from which to choose?

Prospero hated this. All of it. But.. he owned Albus a number of varied favors. And in exchange, once a decade he would travel to Hogwarts, and teach a very exclusive class, Arthurian spells. As the presumably only living practitioner of such magic, every school imaginable had asked him to do such a thing. But he was NOT a teacher. He was a loner. So as a result maybe one student in fifty actually was able to master a vague understanding of what he taught.

Class had just been dismissed, and he yawned loudly, leaning low in his chair, and letting his eyelids droop. However, he could hear and sense someone NOT leaving the room. Approaching his desk even. Mmf. Children.

I NEED ALL OF THIS. ALL OF IT.

Okay, so you’ve got Artemis who really barely knows her father’s side of the family (her mom’s protective and hesitant to let her visit them because of the track record of Blacks and Azkaban/blood supremacy even though she knows Ceara and the kids don’t share those views), the lone Hufflepuff. They figure they don’t have too much to worry about but they are curious and so their best source of information is their resident Black. And she’s just like ‘I don’t know. I didn’t know I had cousins until the Sorting. Mostly I wanted to know about my dad.”

You’ve got Rebecca in Slytherin mostly rolling her eyes at Malfoy’s squad and their idiot antics, but not too many questions about Sirius from there but there IS suspicion from other Houses that ‘someone has to be helping Black into the castle, why wouldn’t it be the Slytherin related to him’

Meanwhile Regulus and Morrigan aren’t necessarily being shunned in Gryffindor but it’s not nearly as comfortable as it had been, especially after Sirius breaks into the tower.

Ravenclaw - being slightly more rational than the other houses, don’t give Alphie too much of a hard time. As he’s an older student, they also generally have a better grasp of his character but again, those outside his house and those less mature still see him as a Black that’s smart enough to get him in without getting caught.
