The days passed and Rhea and Yui came to dinner. Colbie’s nerves were in a tizzy. Tatum did his best to reassure her. He would do whatever it took to ensure they loved him. 

He was true to his word. While it was very obvious he had eyes for Colbie, he doted on all three girls. He made sure each had drinks and food and conversation throughout the night. When Colbie suggested a game of Questions to get tot know one another, Tatum was the first to agree to play and he didn’t hold back. Every answer he gave was a true and honest depiction of himself. 

After Rhea and Yui left he waited until she closed the door. “So, How’d I do?”

Colbie giggled and shook her head “Rhea is gonna text me so we can talk one on one but I think you did great.” Colbie smiled and sauntered over. She placed a gentle kiss on his cheek. “But for tonight.. goodnight Tatum.” 

As hard as it was to make himself leave he kissed her cheek also and nodded “Goodnight Princess.” with that, he was gone and she locked the door behind him with a smile on her face. 

Colbie made Tatum wait a week after their dinner to give him an answer. Rhea seemed to like him enough and that made it all better. Every day at work Tatum ate lunch with her. Everyday he drove her home.Never once did he press her for an answer. He allowed her to give it to him on her own time. 

“So,” she looked over at him as he dropped her off “If you’re going to be my boyfriend.. I have to test out your cuddle skills.” She grinned and he smiled a smile that took over his entire face.

He came over later that night in his pajamas and they curled up on the couch. She didn’t want to take him to her room quite yet. She didn’t want to give off the wrong idea. 

“You make me feels things that are unfamiliar to me..” He whispered as he held her. “I am not the uptight business man or the emotionless manager when I am near you.” 

Her skin warmed up and her cheeks flushed. “I..I don’t know how..” She admitted. 

“Just by Being you Colbie. Your soul is just so mesmerizing.”

If she got any redder she surely would set the couch on fire.He kissed her temple gently and his grip tightened a bit. “Mine?” he asked her in a tone that sent a shiver down her spine. 

Time had gone by and many things had happened. Tatum spent more and more time with Colbie outside of the office. She often felt flustered and confused. She was certain that he liked her as more as a co-worker but she couldn’t figure out why. 

She didn’t have to wait long to find out. Three weeks into their one on one time together he broached the subject. 

“Colbie... Why do you torture me so?” He Half pouted as he’d laid across her couch. 

She looked at him confused. “I do not torture you..” 

“You do, I am head over heels for you and you don’t even seem to notice.” 

This statement sent her heart a flutter and her mind into a tizzy. “I.. I notice.. I am just trying to figure out why I guess.” 

He sat up eagerly. “I could have just told you if you had only asked!” He chuckled “You’ve got a heart of gold and eyes like the ocean. I find myself filled with joy every time I see you while simultaneously feeling as though I am being pulled into the depths of the unknown. Your smile brightens every room - even your fake ones. You are so intelligent and you have incredible goals. On top of that you are sexy as hell.” 

By this point her skin looked deep cherry red nearly from head to toe. He grinned and stood, walking over to her. “Will you allow me to be your boyfriend? Will you allow me to show the world how I feel for you?” 

“I... Um... “ 

He looked scared as he watched the battle in her eyes. He couldn’t see it but she was fighting herself. She knew once she allowed happiness to find her that heartbreak would not be far behind. She so wanted a shot at happiness.. for once. She exhaled. 

“Under one condition... you have to meet my best friend. She is like the sister I have always wanted.”
