while marnie enjoyed the cooler seasons over the summer ones, waking up to unexpected snow near the end of summer was a bit of a shock. she tried to dress her best to fit the occasion before wandering outside. everything looked magical. she was trying to take in her surroundings when she noticed a familiar face, a smirk forming across her lips as she approached the girl. her hands slid into her pockets as she closed the distance between uma and herself, “it kind of sucks that we happened to magically skip over the best season, huh?” she teased, referring to fall. “you look absolutely miserable. do you want to borrow my jacket? i’m pretty used to the cold.”

PETER: do you want to hangout this weekend and do something? not like a date... if you don't want it to be.

Toulouse couldn’t help but roll his eyes slightly at the other’s denial, “I’m just preparing you for what your future significant other is probably going to complain about.” Though his demeanor was quick to change in spite of the question posed. He blinked in surprise, a bit caught off guard before he stood up from his seat and sat beside Marie. “You better not be talking about the afterlife, I’m not ready for a conversation that heavy. I’ll need to smoke at least a couple of blunts before getting into that.” He reached out to play with her hair. “But I do end up thinking about what will happen when we graduate. I’m afraid that school is the only thing keeping Ber, you, and I together right now. I know you both are going to go on your paths when we finally leave and that’s scary to think about sometimes. What if I’m the only one that falls behind?”

oliver was tempted to keep playing with the other’s hair but decided to let his hand fall back into his lap, a quiet chuckle escaping him. “that’s probably true, how can you focus on anything when your magical looking hair keeps falling in your eyes? maybe we should buy you a headband. one with a bow on it.” he teased, sticking his tongue out in a playful manner. he was surprised when aladdin decided to return the favor of pushing his own hair back, not accustomed to people willingly touching him. “pfft, i’m a master of dealing with distractions in all shapes and form. if i wasn’t, i would literally never get any work done. my mind and hair are both constantly all over the place.”

“do you seriously not own mittens?” the question blurted out had to be unexpected for many reasons. the two had been walking in silence back to the frat house up until now, max casually watching the other as they trudged through the snow. one of the many things he inherited from his father but refused to admit had been his tendency to overpack. somehow he had managed to tuck a pair of mittens away in his belongings. he paused in his tracks and reached out to gently take one of ryan’s hands, slipping one of the mittens off and placing it onto the other’s hand. “there, now at least one of your hands will stay warm.” he teased. “if someone else was here you could hold their hand to keep the other one warm too.”

“come on, come on!” rex eagerly tugged on his mentor’s hand to encourage him to move toward the exit. “i still can’t believe that you’ve never been snow before. you’re like ancient, aren’t you? this is why you need to get out more and take a vacation.” he teased, scrunching his nose up. “but seriously, time’s wasting. i have a full list of things that you need to do while the snow is still covering everything. who knows how long this whole thing is going to last.” he had figured out by now that this was an accident caused by magic gone unchecked and it wouldn’t be long until the staff members put their heads together to come up with a solution. nothing this fun and exciting could last forever.

After spending a few hours playing in the snow, Peter found the willpower to exercise some self-restraint before heading to the library to work on some assignments. He bounced his leg up and down as his gaze was drawn to the window, wishing he could go back outside. But, he knew he had to focus. A small groan escaped him as he looked back at the screen of his laptop. He peered up at the person who was seated across from him, “I don’t know about you but I’m really glad that classes are canceled. It gives me a chance to work on this English assignment that I’ve been putting off for a couple of days.” He chuckled. “--Are you any good at English? I kind of need some help.” He paused. “I’m not asking you to do the work for me or anything, but it would be nice to get some pointers or guidance.”
