Judicial custody of Samarth Singh and Giribala Singh has been extended till July 28 as the CBI continues its investigation into Twisha Sharma’s death.

MADHYA PRADESH: The Bhopal District and Sessions Court has extended the judicial custody of Samarth Singh and his mother Giribala Singh till July 28 in the death case of former model and actor Twisha Sharma.

The extension came after the CBI claimed that the accused were not cooperating with the investigation by refusing to provide voice samples. During the hearing, the accused appeared before the court through video conferencing.

Twisha Sharma was found hanging at her in-laws’ residence in Bhopal on May 12. Following the investigation, her husband Samarth Singh and mother-in-law Giribala Singh, a former district judge, were arrested on allegations related to dowry harassment, mental cruelty and domestic violence.

Justice for Twisha must mean truth for Twisha — not selective outrage.

If dowry was demanded, the takers must face the harshest law. But one uncomfortable legal question remains:

If dowry was allegedly given, who gave it? Who agreed to send an innocent daughter into a family they now call dowry takers? And if dowry taking is a crime, then dowry giving is also punishable under Section 3 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.

So why is the law questioned only from one side?

No sympathy for dowry. No protection for abusers. But no blind narrative either.

Twisha Sharma deserves truth. But so did Judge Aman Kumar Sharma. One case gets primetime outrage. The other gets buried under selective feminism and convenient silence.

India cannot demand “Justice For Women” while ignoring men allegedly being destroyed by legal harassment, media trials and institutional hypocrisy.

Equal laws. Equal outrage. Equal justice.
