He went to the coffee maker and poured himself a cup as if life was just going to keep going like normal as if his mind wasn’t racing as hard as his heart had been pounding the night before. “So, I did something,” he said calmly as he dumped sugar in his cup before stirring it and putting the spoon in the sink.
