PART 1, PART 2
PART 3 ( written by Jen )
She’s hurrying because she needs to grab her History textbook and get to class before the bell rings and she ruins her perfect record for punctuality. Mr. Shuester decided to use more than a reasonable amount of time after Spanish to ask her questions about Glee. Questions that surely could have waited the two hours until rehearsal started. So clutching her binder close to her chest, her feet are carrying her as fast as they can towards her locker. She fights her way through a sea of people emerging from one hallway and entering another, her locker only a few feet away.
She takes a moment to stop to wait for a group of football players cross, but in the moment that she stops, she sees Aaron. But he’s not looking at her and when she follows his eyes she finds Noah through the glass of the door at the end of the hall. She doesn’t look at either brother directly again, she looks only forward, as she finds herself in the middle of the hallway, in the middle of the mess that she’s created. They’ve asked her to choose and she knows that logically she needs to but she doesn’t know what or who she wants. She’s not ready to make this decision.
She can feel two pairs of hazel eyes piercing through her, begging her for answers without saying a single word, or even making eye contact. It’s suffocating her. There’s a sea of people surrounding them, moving about towards their classes, none of them even aware of the tension building in the hallway. She needs to get herself out of this situation.
She can’t just keep standing here because she can’t breathe. She may not be able to choose between the two boys, but she can choose between fight and flight. She chooses flight as she turns around and heads back down the hallway she’d come from moments before. Her History teacher isn’t happy when she shows up late for class, without her textbook.
