so what happened? well firstly, and the more personal answer: one of the characters, cloudy, was based on someone i was very close to at the time. without going into too much detail, at the time of writing this, they have gone no contact with me due to personal drama within our old friend group, and this caused a lot of damage to me mentally. they were actually the whole reason i started working on the game and were the main inspiration for disconnected. due to us not being in contact anymore, i lost interest in making disconnected, especially since one of the characters was basically a constant reminder of them. i stopped development on disconnected due to the pain of losing that close friend, and eventually it became a little too late to return to development due to my next reason.

im fairly certain roblox hates their devs at this point. due to the recent updates, it has become nearly impossible for me to publish the game even if i did finish it. with roblox now requiring you to have your roblox account connected with your damn ID (aka the thing that tells them basically who exactly you are) i no longer feel comfortable being a roblox dev. i absolutely do not trust roblox with my ID or even them having the slightest clue who i am due to the several data leaks theyve had over the past few months. additionally, call me "broke" but i dont have the money to afford roblox plus, nor do i want to spend 1,000 robux on this game cuz, again, im broke.

so what does this mean dor disconnected? well for starters, im still putting it on hiatus. i still havent healed fully from that close friend distancing themself from me, and i dont want to deal with everything happening with roblox's updates, so development has been put on pause. im not fully canceling it cuz its still a game i wish to finish at some point, but right now i wish to focus on a different project that im more interested in at the moment. but for clarification, the game is not canceled, its just gonna be worked on later, and probably be a bit different than it originally was, but i'll go into more detail about that later.
