I’m elated that Negan lives, but I truly wish he and Carl had been given a moment to talk. Who knows? Maybe it’s better to leave him as a shadow, bringing flowers to Lucille’s grave? (that part did me in too!)

I’m glad that Carl and Sophia ended up together and found some peace as adults. I’m also happy that we had a bit of closure with Lydia and Carl’s relationship. In fact, all of the characters’ storylines had fairly satisfying, natural endings.

I do wish we had more time to spend with all of them, especially Jesus and Aaron, but I understand that sometimes it’s better to suggest things and to leave it a bit more open. Maybe someday we’ll get some spin-offs that will fill in the gaps of the time jump?

But for now, this was what I wanted. I’m satisfied.

Something odd happened yesterday when Robert Kirkman posted a warning not to seek out spoilers for issue #193 of The Walking Dead, promising that it was a “big issue in more ways than one.” It’s not like Robert Kikrman hasn’t promised big things before, but this seems especially strange when considering last issue (spoilers follow) he killed off Rick Grimes, the lead of the entire series. What could possibly top that?

If you don’t want this issue spoiled and want to remain true to Kirkman’s odd attempt at a “surprise,” stop reading now. But this is such a massive development that it has be discussed all the same.

The leaks I’ve seen from issue #193 that are going around, a huge, 70+ page issue, are from the Letter Hacks section. A letter in which Kirkman pens a goodbye note to fans.

That’s right, according to these leaks, Kirkman is ending The Walking Dead completely with issue #193. From the letter:

“Oddly, as unsure as I feel about ending the story, I feel confident in how I ended it. I’ve been building to this for years, and it does feel good to end on such a happy note. To know that everything these characters lived through meant something. To see that Michonne got to find her daughter, find peace with her life, and even have a grandchild…that feels good. That the world is fixed…and at peace, that in some ways it’s even better than before…that’s meaningful. And to see Carl in that rocking chair, reading happily to his daughter, to know that’s the life Rick wanted him to have…that makes me happy.”

ok my thoughts on this is that I’m surprised how sudden it is that the ending is here. The other article said RK just doesn’t like knowing the ending is coming blah blah but anyway now I know ( i hate change...i like knowing when the conclusion is coming in a story. ok.) Kirkman just loves surprised argh. ukno sometimes too many plottwist and surprises can ruin stories ...

But like wow the ending being this week #193, was kinda something I had suspected and ranted on the comics. well if you read my  #*twd comics posts. I didn’t like how sudden Rick died. His last arc or dying arc whatever felt so rushed and I was really hoping and expecting Rick to mentor Carl. So yeah I’m disappointed on it. Rick just dies blah in a plot set in CW. I really wanted a father and son thing. However, I do feel Rick’s death wasn’t so bad. Rick’s story did kinda wrapped up nicely a bit with the whole “we’re not the walking dead.” and him finding CW. But I’m like uh what about Carl/Rick and Carl? Why was it like 2 issues and not a book, of Rick’s arc ending?

Anyway, I was thinking when Rick dies in the comics then that’s when the comic book series end or closely to it. It was something I hoped for...and it did. The other way is seeing Carl leading for long a time in the series. So ..it like did happened but not quite what I had imagined. It was sudden cos Kirkman made it that way. I also imagined old OLD Rick dying or already experienced leader Carl leading his people in peace across America. (idk why but i want that storyline..no one wants to do that, not even The 100′s Clarke) But no, it’s all quick. Rick dies in his 40s (not with Michonne) or so and we don’t see Carl leading for years (&not mentored from Rick for years) but I’m assuming there’s a time jump or epilogue of Carl in CW. The ending is kinda what I wanted to go. I’m glad it’s a peaceful one. RK’s old other ending idea is cool too but very depressing and meh.

 So with the ending being this week, I’m like like WOAH now? why now? Why is it/the conclusion like rushed? okaaay. Idk what to say...but I’m also glad it ends now and after Rick’s death. It’s been a long story and it feels dragged out and it’s mostly about Rick. I feel weird continuing without Rick. But, Idk. I think I would have been fine with TWD continuing if Rick’s story ending was not in 2 issues and if Rick had a long plot with Carl about family love and leadership before it. It would’ve been a nice change into focusing Carl’s leading the story and being a leader. But like Kirkman mentioned..they found Commonwealth. It’s like already done for them. But it would be nice and cool to see Carl to keep going and travel west and find more people and places and ...save the human race/civilization in America. (like Falling Skies show-alien show). But I think where the actual ending is at, is good enough.
