Summer solstice tarot challenge day 12
What do I need to hear this solstice?
The Dragonfly is an ancient creature that unlocks the sense of wonder in us all. It is a symbol of the mind- always moving, changing, and growing. This card comes to us when we need to examine our perception: are we calm or restless? are our thoughts fuzzy or clear? IT’s ok if things are unclear right now, take a moment to calm yourself and all will make sense.
I took a video of my millipedes! No talking in this lol.
The two girls are Gabby and Shepard. The male Galactus is underground in molt, it takes about two weeks for them to complete the molt.
The tiny white bugs are Forest springtails. They keep the tank clean by devouring mold/mildew/fungus/rot/and waste.
Yes the moss is dead because they kept tunneling under them and eating the little roots. They will be taken out once the male is finished molting so I don’t accidentally collapse his tunnel.
I handle my millipedes often, and I do my best to pick them up from underneath to prevent injury. You can see me trying and failing to do that a few times. Sometimes they just have no interest in being held.
They will live until they are a decade old with proper care. Their tank will be getting cleaned and rearranged once the male is finished molting. The mushroom are not real, they are glow in the dark deco ones.
I love my millipedes very much, they make for lovely pets :)

Summer Solstice Tarot Challenge day 2
Draw a wand (Fire) card to represent yourself right now, draw another card to give you advice for the month
I chose the Scorpion as my fire card. One, because I’m a scorpio. Two, because it represents both the worst parts of me, and parts of me that I want to get better at. The scorpion is passionate, competitive, and tends towards isolation. It is not uncommon for the scorpion to dwell on the past, festering in unresolved emotions and scorn. I find I embody this jealousy, resentfulness, and tendency to cling to the unresolved.
The Raccoon is my advice card. The raccoon is talented and tenacious, but that talent can hide an unresolved issue of self image. While hiding behind a mask can feel safe at times, it can also limit our creativity and sense of self worth. How fulfilling is your life if you start to feel like you are lying to others, and nobody really knows who you are? The mask can keep us from growing.
My advice for the month is to shed that mask, to get back to the core of my authentic self, and show it to the world. I need to start creating again, things that I love, things that I want to create, so that I can be at peace with myself and my ego.
I also love that the tarantula box is pink, aaaaah I love them.
I caught my first one of the season only an hour ago, so glad to have one in my house now !
