Remus Sanders Character Analysis
Ok, I'm gonna try to make this as comprehensive as possible but forgive me if I ramble.
Remus's role in Sanders Sides had always eluded me, until now. Like, he was a fun character, but what was his PURPOSE? What did he bring to the table that Roman couldn't outside of "Dark Creativity"?
Then it hit me. Remus is the purest form of Truth. He's everything Thomas, and by extension the other sides, doesn't want to confront.
Logan's repressed emotions? Remus's department.
Roman's insecurities? Yep that's Remus's too.
Patton's desperately concocted lie that Thomas is a perfect and good person? Remus embodies all of that.
He IS the lies the sides keep. Their darkest insecurities and fears.

Anyway. So OF COURSE Janus sets him loose at the perfect time! Once Janus realizes that the sides aren't willing to listen to him, he lets Remus be revealed. He lets the literal embodiment of everyones insecurities and fears be seen and known.
I think Roman put it best:

Remus is constantly trying to get the sides to be more honest. In a... rather twisted way, sure. But that's just Remus.
See here he's trying to get Logan to scream. Lash out. Show emotion for ONCE.
And he does this ALOT in the show, despite having a low amount of screentime.
In conclusion, Remus's goal is to get everyone to tell the truth about everything always and Janus let him out to do just that, starting with getting Logan to stop repressing his feelings.
