At #tvnext: discussing our fear of data in the creative process, video > tv, and viewer attention as measurement. In 5 years, we'll talk about the various media companies' subscription models and the micro-media companies' strategies.
Sole female contestant wins 'Best In Show' for her Twitter app
Seventeen-year old high school student Jennie Lamere beat out 80 other developers last month at the Hill Holliday's TVNext Hackathon, for creating an app called "Twivo" which blocks TV spoilers on Twitter.
Lamere has been coding for years and signed up for the competition just days before submissions were due. She was the only female coder to submit a project, and took her category's top prize, as well as the hackathon's "Best in Show" award.Â

Twitter Hack by 17 yr Old Girl
I just watched a demo of an app built by a 17 yr old girl at TVnext Hack. Â The app blocks tweets (from your feed) for a specific TV show (using hashtags and Klout scores). Â The use case is simple - she is a second screen addict, but doesn't want her recorded shows spoiled by tweets from her feed.
This is the third hack between my four last hackathons where someone has built an app to block social content on the second screen in order to mitigate spoilers.

Spent as much of the day as I could manage listening to HillHoliday's TVNext Conference from Boston, with some very smart people in Social TV chatting about what comes next. Â They've kindly put all the talks up online. Â Thank you!
