"  𝐢'𝐯𝐞  𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧  𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠  𝐚𝐭  𝐭𝐡𝐞  𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐬  𝐟𝐨𝐫  𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞  𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞  𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬  .  "  serena’s  gaze  drifts  across  the  off  -  white  colored  walls  of  her  boutique  ,  a  small  frown  forming  on  her  lips  .  despite  being  open  for  a  couple  months  now ,  she  had  yet  to  tackle  the  paint  job  and  her  growing  obsession  with  it  was  finally  beginning  to  mess  with  her  head  .    “  do  they  look  like  they  have  a  slightly  yellow  tint  to  you  ?  or  am  i  just  going  crazy  ?  ”

“Excuse me...um...” he started, hastily approaching Lucifer. “Mr. Morningstar. I really do hate to be a bother, but may I speak with you for a moment? If you’re  occupied, I can, uh, wait for better time of course. But something strange happened recently, and I’ve been hoping you might have some insight given your...position.”

adam  was  good  at  concealing  things  for  the  sake  of  his  circle.   but  there  were  few  people  he  opened  himself  up  to  (  aside  from  diana  ) that  he  felt  he  didn’t  need  to  hide  himself  from.  josie  had  slowly  become  one  of  those  people.  “  i  didn’t  have  much  luck  sleeping  last  night,  but  i’ll  be  fine.  ”   but  old  habits  die  hard,  and  he  tries  not  to  worry  her  with  details  of  his  nightmares.   the  malignant  voices  of  ancient  witches  still  in  his  head,   the  dark  imprint  of  their  presence  still  haunting  him  with  scars  that  cut  deeper  than  the  one  they  left  on  his  arm.   he  still  feels  like  a  puppet  to  them.  they’re  hard  to  shake.   “  nothing  a  cup  of  coffee  can’t  fix.  ”

"  𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭  𝐚𝐫𝐞  𝐲𝐨𝐮  𝐚𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐝  𝐨𝐟  𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧  ?  "  meredith  glances  down  at  the  plate  of  pickle  slices  covered  in  peanut  butter  in  front  of  them  ,  eyebrow  raised  in  question  .  it  was  admittedly  a   weird  combination  ,  but  it  was  her  favorite  ,  and  she  was  determined  to  see  the  other’s  reaction  .  “  it  may  look  weird  ,  but  i  promise  it  tastes  amazing  . ”

          while  at  work,  buffy  can't  help  but  be  distracted.  first  there's  the  murders  then  there’s  this  overwhelming  sense  that  something  else  has  come  into  town.  something  not  as  mild  as  the  beings  she's  met  thus  far  have  been.  it  could  just  be  happenstance  (if  she  believed  in  that).  and  most  of  all,  it  makes  her  think  how  she  wished  she  had  giles  or  the  rest  of  the  gang  to  help  her  investigate.  shaking  her  head  and  away  all  thoughts  of  her  friends,  buffy  turns  from  the  display  she's  messing  up  with.  catching,  out  of  the  corner  of  her  eye,  the  welcoming  sight  that  is  george  near  one  of  their  newest  acquisitions.  she  takes  this,  happily,  as  a  sign  to  go  on  her  break.  to  avoid  startling  him,  the  slayer  clears  her  throat  once  she  nears  him.  sparing  a  small  glance  at  the  piece.  it’s  disturbing,  like  something  out  of  one  of  giles’  books.  "this — ”  she  says  pointing  at  the  piece  “is  why  you  don't  have  friends."  buffy  jests.  a  clear  joke.  especially  as  she  likes  to  think  they  are  friends.  or,  at  least,  friend-ly.

 "  when  were  you  going  to  tell  me ?  ”  an  accusatory  tone ,  already  attempting  to  create  a  squabble  within  ten  minutes  of  knowing  he  was  even  around  again .  one  might  even  say  her  gaze  could  pierce  through  someone’s  very  soul  like  a  dagger . arms  folded  across  her  chest ,  bottom  lip  trembling  as  though  the  demon  were  trying  to  bite  her  tongue  from  admitting  too  much  emotion .  “  it’s  good  to  have  you  back .  ”

she’s  already  nursing  a  headache  from  the  previous  night,   she  doesn’t  need  another  nagging  at  her.  what  was  she,  her  mom  ?  not  like  hers  ever  gave  two  shits.   maybe  that’s  why  val  doesn’t  understand  the  concern.     “  no,  what  i  need  is  you  to  lighten  up.   don’t  be  such  a  sourpuss,  jo  !   ”   she  throws  an  arm  around  her,   offering  the   sizeable   to  -  go  cup  deceptively  filled  with  vodka  and  coke.   “  and  have  drink  with  me  !  c’mon.  ”
