“So, how many other water-type trainers do you think are here?” The question was asked from a pair of glossed lips, turned up into a small, teasing grin. “I mean, I think it’s important to suss out who the ones coming for my brand are gonna be here, you know?” she added, shooting the other a smile as she swished around the contents of her cup and took a sip.

Tabby hadn’t been all that interested in the idea of a getting-to-know-you party, although she’d been convinced to attend with the promise of an open bar. She’d mostly been keeping herself occupied looking around Oak’s house, but it wasn’t very interesting. He mostly had a bunch of boring nerd junk and pictures of his grandkids. She’d wandered back to the bar, grabbing a particularly pricey bottle of scotch and discreetly slipping it into her backpack when she noticed someone looking at her. “You didn’t see anything, got it?”

“I have a hot take,” Sid turned to the person next to him, swirling the umbrella in his Mai Tai. “All drinks taste better with these little umbrellas in them, there’s just some kind of flavor enhancing quality.”

“Hey, do you guys think the legend of the phantom Pokemon living in the woods outside of Pallet Town is true? Do you wanna go look for it?” Hayley asked someone walking by. She’d had a few drinks at this point, and was becoming much more curious about her surroundings than she’d been when she’d first arrived. 

The Professor’s house was getting a little stuffy for Troy, what with all the people crammed into a small space and the fact that the Professor had started in on these ‘back when I was a trainer’ yarns. Troy opted to go hang out on the back deck, lighting a joint and looking out when he heard a door slam behind him. He turned around to make sure it wasn’t the prof or one of his staff and smirked when he saw a stranger. He held out the joint, “You want a hit?”
