So you wanna learn blender huh?
Allow me to help ya! I have been making poses for five years now, and Iâm a huge avid lover of making things yourself. So I set out on how to learn how to make poses. But, there wasnât a sims specific blender tutorial for me. I had to learn on my own and blah blah. Long story short, hereâs what I learned in my years of love for this art! First! : Making blender âyoursâ I love giving things (with the opportunity to customize it) My own spin. So I changed everything to look how I wanted. Letâs start with the colo(u)ring Go into File > User Preferences as seen down below!  Or Press âCtrl Alt Uâ
Next Go Into âThemesâ
and simply, have at it! Choose whatever colors you want bestie! Secondly! : Changing the Camera What I did was completely delete the camera that blender defaultly comes with. As in, go to my outliner, and click on âcameraâ and âdelete hierarchyâ
This will just simply that, delete it. Now we can add our own! Press and Hold âShift + Aâ And click on âCameraâ
This will pop up! Good job. It worked, you did it. Iâm genuinely proud. Sometimes blender is tricky, trust me. All these fancy keybinds! Now go to your render tab. Itâs right underneath youâre outliner, Click on the teeny tiny lilâ camera.
There, you can change the cameras Dimentions when you render! I recommend just straight rendering rigs for the pose pack icons. It helps! I always set mine to 2000 But you are free to choose whatever res you would like.
If you set it as 64 x 64 youâll have a ready made icon for the pack! Third-ly : Getting lights figured out This is very very Very! Easy to do. and it makes everything so much better in my opinion. Letâs say youâve tinkered around with poses, and have noticed that your sims turn black when you move them far out...ugh nightmare I know. So hard to see, and just plain not very aesthetically pleasing the the eyes. With this we can fix this. So! Letâs press Shift+A again, and hover over âlampâ then press âhemiâ
This will just brighten everything. Make sure youâve deleted the seventy lamps that default blender comes with (they suck) Now Click on the light that just appeared. Should look like this
Raise it up my either pressing âGâ Or just simply use the arrow axis keys! Then simply go into the lighting tab
And turn âspecularâ Off! this will make them shiny we donât want that. Then click on the eyeball in your outliner and that turns them off in the base layer. and then youâre set!
DONât FORGET TO SAVE AS STARTUP (forgot to add)
Youâve just learned the basics to making blender easier! If you want me to help with keybinds and ease of use keybinds let me know!| Much Loves!
