Good basic guide here as to how you should prepare your character in the tutorial areas, and just after you finish the tutorial. One thing that's overlooked often - at least I find it so for me - is that you should kill several enemy mobs in the tutorial before you go after the boss, so that you can build up XP, get some copper and some  drops that you can sell.

Def not making a charr male, but maybe a female, as they are cute. Also more cat then girl in the catgirl spectrum so it still counts, but more of a feral sexiness meow hahaha
