the best thing the canadians and british ever did was put wood furniture on their FALs
when it comes to guns, i'm fully aware that for practical purposes, things that were designed and produced more recently are going to be better, with more modern design sensibilities and safety measures and all that. but god damn do i love the classics, i'm a complete fucking boomer when it comes to that shit and i'm not ashamed. i even love it when you take modern guns and boomerfying them, like putting wood furniture on an AR or a beretta 92. and don't even get me STARTED on the PKM.......
the cool thing about being interested in a broad topic is that you never run out of things to learn, it's just that things get more obscure and apocryphal the further you go in. being a gun nerd who has stronger autism than the average shōnen protagonist, i've gotten to a point where i regularly go decent distances without learning anything new, only to be occasionally blindsided by something so obscure that i'm struck with the realization that i might be one of around 1000 people tops who both know about a specific thing and am currently living. whadda hell is .40-82 winchester!!! what's up with that guy!!!! who the fuck is that!!! you don't know but i do now!!!! learning and growing is an endeavor that only ends when you die!!!! and maybe even beyond that if there's an afterlife!!!!!!
