His fifth case, he thought, was when his work started feeling normal again. Bobby could ignore the furtive looks his more media-sensitive colleagues gave him, he had just about gotten all of the new procedure changes under his belt, and he no longer felt strange about standing over bodies and evidence like some sort of ghoul. Slipping his gloves on and off seemed right again.

He had just finished cataloguing bullet markings at the scene and bagging a couple slugs when he turned around and saw a blue suit--one that definitely did not belong to a cop or anyone on the forensic crew. Bobby frowned and snapped the wrists of his gloves before striding toward the stranger.

She was simply here to figure out some of the facts, make sure the right killer was found, and probably make a scene or two along the way. 

Still, the guy in the blue suit was unfamiliar to her, so she couldn’t help but ask. “You look a little suspicious.” No he doesn’t. She’s just saying that.
