Today we meet a small member of the mostly-nomadic Nenets people of northwest Siberia’s Yamal Peninsula. In the Nenets language, ‘yamal’ means ‘the end of the earth’ and temperatures here can hold steady at -58F degrees in the winter. The Nenets’ traditional clothing is so weatherproof, they can easily spend 8+ hrs outside with no ill effects.
