♣ Kerlan~
♣ — a fading memory
You’re not really a horrorterror anymore. Horrorterrors are concepts, really, floating masses of ideas conglomerating in the outer ring till some semblance of a consciousness is formed, accumulating magic and power like a paranormal dust bunny.
You were a young horrorterror when you first possessed Shanna- still small enough to fit your entire self into a mortal body. You can still remember the shock of physical sense, of existing in a tangible body- the weight of the planet pulling on you, the coppery tang of blood, the shift of cotton cloth against your body.
Still, that was nothing compared to the psychic shock of Shanna’s spirit, overflowing with intense fear, worry, and so much love. Emotions were common place in the outer ring, but they were wisps, tangled amalgamations, not this intense purity aimed at a single subject. And so much love-
Love wasn’t common in the outer ring. Horrorterrors aren’t capable of love. It’s a grounded emotion, exchanged between mortals, that rarely escaped to other realms. You’ve never felt so much of it in your whole existence.
When Shanna agrees to let you stay, it’s an enormous relief. The ten minutes or so you spent in possession of her body was the most intense, satisfying experience you’ve ever had in your existence, so much so that you can barely remember how it to exist before it. No wonder mortals were so attached to living!
You’re pretty sure it changed you, and changed you permanently. What sort of horrorterror feels?
