okay so this reylo au i pictured them as young teens, around 13? it’s much more cute than anything else. rey is a poor girl living with older sis rose, maybe on hawaii, maybe on some american town surrounded by desert like jakku. nobody likes her bc she only thinks about fixing stuff/mechanics and walks around covered in sand and mud and this is not ‘what a girl is supposed to be’, rose fights to not lose her sis to the system with the help of friendly handsome bf finn. 

on another galaxy there’s this boy made to be a machine of destruction, kylo [he may or may not have cute stitch ears and antennae lol], he escapes on a escape pod and lands on earth, walks kinda disoriented and hurt until he finds rey. he lies a lot about where he came [if he has antennae, he retreats them like stitch does to his arms] from and acts aggressive, but rey realises he doesn’t hate her or anyone, he’s just lost as hell.

 they become friends. they bond over.. idk? racing, fighting, fixing stuff. they go on fun adventures and disrupt the neighbourhood. kylo likes rey as something more than a friend and she totes likes him this way, but they are very shy as any G rated teen. rey tries to get her sis to adopt him and she goes WTFFFFFF. evil aliens come after kylo. kylo breaks stuff and has a VERY inhuman force/force powers. he’s threatened with juvenile imprisonment. the fbi wants him. chaos, people cry, epic fighting, town destruction but in the end he finds a place where he belongs, stops being mean and kisses his gf [softly]. finn and rose get together as well. they have a cool dinner pic and go to las vegas.

basically someone with 1k followers could decide you were a pedophile for drawing general hux a bit thinner and without his smirk lines and have their minions running you off tumblr, you could be called a threat to the lgbt community for drawing bottom kylo and no one would fucking TALK to you if you weren’t part of the 1k club, yet they would consider themselves all part of the same ‘sin bin’ [reylo fam, anyone?…]

it was a very unhealthy environment for everyone involved, a lot of artists and writers retired bc they couldn’t put up with shit anymore and the fandom kinda died out for a while… nowadays it’s pretty active and relatively [almost completely as far as i know] drama free, because people grew fucking TIRED of dealing with ego driven clowns and got back to the real deal that is watching kylo and hux fucking/making love in every possible way. plus the fandom broke up in smaller groups, so you have the hardcore kinksters, the cute asexual stuff folks, the kylux-adjacent team…. and most people hc them as switches nowadays. lmao.

i am myself a die hard kyluxer since 2000 and fucking 15 but i had to fucking retire around the end of 2016 bc the fandom had eaten my health away. what’s the point of staying as a content maker in a fandom if you can be attacked for making art and there’s no space for growth since everyone follows the same fucking people?   

i feel its about time we the reylos realise we are only cannibalising ourselves trying to keep the ‘reylo fam’ and disband to smaller groups like the kylux did. die hard kinksters with noncon/dark fantasies wont bother the vanilla, the vanilla wont bother the reylo-adjacent people, etc
