I just wanna talk about Tsukimichi: Moonlit Fantasy for moment. Just cuz I saw some Youtube Short with a weird take in the comment section. I'm not gonna call out the Short or the commenter cuz its doesn't really matter substantively; it's just my jumping off point.
So Makoto's parents... It's kinda weird they didn't warn their kids. Like "Hey we escaped from a bad situation in an alternate world and we had to promise the Goddess of that world one of our kids to make the getaway." Admittedly that's an awkward conversation but I mean a little heads up woulda been nice, right? Or well....
It's my supposition that Makoto's Parent's knew how difficult it was to travel between worlds and Extra difficult (impossible) it is to travel between worlds with any accuracy or definitive destination. They probably had every reason to think once they got out they couldn't 1) Go Back or 2) Be Located. And it's probably something along the lines that if they don't even talk about it they can avoid notice on like a metaphysical plane and if they can't be found than they don't have to trouble their kids about it. They did, at least, make sure all their kids had a martial skill so they would so they could at least defend themselves if they got yanked back to the Goddess planet.
Point in Fact, it wasn't even the Goddess that picked Makoto, it was Tsukuyomi. Tsukuyomi picked Makoto partly because of their similarities, Makoto also be the middle child, but also because Makoto was the male child (even though Tsukuyomi was aware of the Goddess' preference of women over men) Side Note: What leverage did the Goddess have over Tsukiyomi to get him too assist with this anyway? It really seems like the Goddess wouldn't have been able to do anything on Earth if Tsukuyomi hadn't pulled Makoto to that in between spot in the first places. Then again, Tsukuyomi did pop over to the Goddess' world for a hot minute... Or at least a projection of himself. Maybe the Goddess could have forced the issue even without Tsukuyomi's assistance, I dunno. Anyway, point being it was Tsukuyomi's choice not the Godness, she damn sure wouldn't have picked Makoto over either of his sisters if she had even the slightest choice about it. Oh and she did also yank the two other heros from earth at the same time so. I really don't even underatand why Tsukuyomi got envolved in the first place.
And Tsukuyomi did like -the most- for Makoto after only knowing him for like an hour or two. Like he gave Makoto a choice; Makoto coulda said no and gone back to his life, it would have been one of his sisters taken instead and that's why Makoto volunteered instead. But then Tsukiyomi delivered two explaination letters to Makoto's parents and sisters. Then he gave Makoto a soecial ability and a hit of power. And wiped all of Makoto's Porn Stash. Then after the Goddess dogged Makoto, Tsukuyomi jumped back in, at a great expense of his own power to give Makoto ANOTHER hit of power and personally give Makoto tacit permission to do whatever he wants on the new Planet regardless of what the Goddess said. Which is crazy cuz it's Her planet, so Tsukuyomi shouldn't have had the authority to do that but he said what he said and Makoto was like 'Bet'. Then before he went into sleep mode Tsukuyomi used the last of his power to send a message to *redacted*, *redacted* and *redacted* to snitch on the Goddess and make sure they checked in Makoto. (The redacted names will probably be revealed in like episode 1 of the next season but, no spoilers for right now)
So yeah, I kind think Makoto's parents should have warned their kids, but I kinda think I inow why they didn't. The Goddess is a stupid ***** but she's still a Goddess, even so, it wasn't her choice to pick Makoto; it was Tsukuyomi and Makoto's joint decision. There was one more thing I wanted to say about Makoto's "luck" but it's actually spoilery (for the anime) so I guess I'll save it for later.
