Just wanted to say you're doing a great job on the game so far ^^

I was wondering... And I know it's probably gonna be a while but when do you hope to finish the game? And date in specific?

How many characters are going to appear in the game once it’s out? I know that NM’s gang is the focus (and I’m definitely looking forward to learning about them!!), but will we see or hear about any other characters?

Yes, you will! One of the game’s events is a gathering of the meta multiverse characters, so you’ll have the chance to meet all of my versions of Fresh, Error, and Dream. Maybe even Reaper and Geno, who knows? That and MAYBE Ink. If he decides he’d want to show up to such a thing.

Fresh, Dream, and Error do already all have designs and everything :}

I haven’t seen that comic in forever omg so yes I do believe that’s where I got the idea to include him in the game BUT that story isn’t how he becomes Flint, no. He leaves the Star Sanses after being forced to watch something happen in his world (that I won’t specify because SPOILERS!!) without being able to do something about it BECAUSE of Ink’s interference so he left them and took Nightmare’s deal because that made him lose all drive he had for being a “hero”. He’s still a guardian of the multiverse, just on the other side.

Nightmare’s goal isn’t to destroy the multiverse, it’s to protect it and keep it alive, so he’s NOT on the same team as Error. He just wants to keep it alive for more *nefarious* reasons. (Wanting to be able to continue using the negativity generated from the timelines to feed his own power and survival. More timelines that are together means more negativity for him to make). So Flint is still helping protect the multiverse, he’s just on the other side to spite and get revenge on Dream and Ink for what they did to him.

Actually, in their own little ways, they all struggle with different things. That’s the main plot of the game, is in each of their routes, you discover their biggest faults and traumas and help them work through them in healthy ways.

For Brute, it’s an eating disorder where he feeds others before himself, even if that means he goes hungry.

But for addictions, yeah, I’d say Vile struggles with use of alcohol and Shark struggles with smoking. No real drugs, no weed or anything, but yeah! At least two of them struggle with substance addiction. Though everyone in the cast has their vices, just not all of em are stuff like that. For Flint, it’s excessive training to get his mind off of things, for example.

Sure! Because you didn’t specify what you wanted more on, you get a fun little tidbit or two about where Shark and Vile come from, and their relationship with each other.

Almost all of the cast have lost their brothers in some way or another. Shark(fell) comes from a neutral timeline where the game ended in war between the monsters and humans, and his Papyrus was lost in something related to that. (Won’t go into detail because that’s spoilers for Shark’s route hehehe)

Vile(swapfell) comes from a glitched timeline where basically everything went wrong. (It’s also why Vile is canonically transmasc— his timeline’s code was so broken and shredded that he was created with an incorrectly gendered body.) It was meant to be pacifist, but Alphys caught the human child he was protecting and their soul was taken regardless. He was cast away for betraying the queendom by aiding the human, and he, sadly, never saw his Papyrus again.

So they’ve both lost their brothers. Since they both technically have the personalities of a fell sans and (somewhat) a fell papyrus, it’s not surprising that they quickly became inseparable. Shark and Vile are the MOST inseparable of the cast, since they remind each other of their late brothers, and refuse to lose another. They’re found family and adoptive brothers to each other, filling the void that was left behind.

This also means they fight and argue like brothers, which is how you meet them in the game’s introduction hehe. You walk in on them absolutely verbally dragging each other.
