Hi there! Remember when I said I wanted to update the old sets’ textures and meshes cause I was a newbie at the time? Well, I understimated the quantity of work. To fix LB set it took me 3 hours, and I haven’t taken the in game pictures for the previews yet. Anyway, I’m way more happy with the result now and I’ve contacted TSR about how I can update it. In the meantime, I’ve decided to make “Fix” posts here so I don’t forget what I’ve changed.

Hair:

fixed the texture issue around the ties

added proper sharp edges around the ribbons and fixed the texture

all the swatches have now red ribbons

(I haven’t touched the hat chops cause they are pretty decent, nor the lower LODs cause the difference from the distance is minimum)

Mask:

remade the texture from scratch with better colors and shadows

now the eyebrows will disappear when wearing the mask

reordered the swatches

YoYo:

fixed the texture and mesh

Costume

created a new package

fixed the mesh so there aren’t hard edges anymore

remade the texture from scratch so no more weird shadows

Plus I’ve made new thumbnails for every piece.

If I’m able to update it in TSR, I decided I won’t update S4S too cause people might prefer the older version to this. This means that, while on S4S the thumbnails are updated with the name of the set, they won’t be updated with the new specular/alpha symbols.

Valentine 2019 Halloween 2018 Christmas 2018

Hello! Sorry for the lack of posts, I’m studying and I needed to take a break from tumblr at the same time.

I managed to do the pose for Valentine icon (this “serie”) while waiting for the new episode yesterday, I just need to edit it and it’s done (I think I’m going to use CB/MF one, but I can edit them together this time!). It’s the recreation of this drawing by Megs-ils.

As usual, I can’t give Marinette proper facial expressions but I’m improving at moving arms/shoulders without distortions!

 Also, thank you @lunanelfeah​ for the suggestion about the heigh! I’ve moved the joints of the spine/legs/arms/neck a little and it seems to work fine! They can actually stand on the same ground without the need to put their legs in weird positions xD

Possible preview style to distinguish these Sets from Miraculous ones? (I’ve used the gold in Ahri’s palette). I still need to add the CAS icons on the right column (and this was just a test, I need to re-do Ahri’s picture).

Guys, Chat is officially finished! And I feel like I’m just falling down from a mountain. It’s just a bad day.

Anyway, in the first two pics there’s the final look (yes, it’s a mirror room, poses in this post are by RJSIMS, HelgaTisha and me). This means that when the set will be ready, it will look 99% like this. I have to re-do part of the mak, uv_1 of hair and try to adjust the belt again (uv_1 and weights, the tail is still going to have the clipping issue as said in previous posts).

The third pic is a collage I made with three in-game screen captures. It basically shows all the work I’ve done in 2 month (I’ve started working on Ladybug the 26th Jen more or less, and it was finished on the 9th Feb, ater a couple of days I started working on the pose and Chat Noir, and here we are, almost ready to be published).

Random and info:

The claws are part of the costume mesh, the ring is going to have 5 different swatches, one for each mark disappearing (as if cataclysm has been used). Here you can also see the wrist cuff distortion when the hand moves, it has to be this way so that it doesn’t clip with the body. If you look at the show it moves the same way but they’re using meshes with way higher poly so there it looks more natural.

I’ve tried to be as detailed as you can in The Sims 4 (considering poly, texture space and how it hands specular), so the boots have paws (they’re texture and normal map, no actual 3D mesh, but I think they’re cute).

Here there’s a better pic of boot’s cuffs. Due to the fact that they use the same texture space of wrist cuffs (they’re basically the same mesh re-arranged in a different way) I had to remove the specular for them (shadow and diffuse maps don’t seem to have a problem with overlapping), this means that if you put them alone they won’t have the “net shine pattern” but when you put on also wrist cuffs it will appear (same for every metal button: you have to use the suit to make them turn silver). Also, I’ve changed the way they’re placed in CAS: right bracelet are both wrist cuffs, left bracelet are both boot cuffs.

Both pair of cuffs with indoor and outdoor light. They look that big becuase in the show Adrien has very thin ankles (aka, the sims are made this way).

As I said at the beginning, I want to try to adjust the deformation of the tail. I guarantee nothing, but at least I have to try. A thing I’m not going to adjust is suit color and baton artifacts. As I said posts ago, the suit has artifacts due to the dark color and how the game works, but I found out that it’s not that evident when you have your game in ultra and the net specular is here. Also, with some photomanipulation you can easly blur them or adjust the color.
