"I promise I wanted to tell you! I just didn't know how..." He squirmed at the steely green glare.
"It was difficult, and if you think about it... it was kinda your fault too." He said but quickly regretted saying a word. "I mean..."
"Just stop, I can't believe I had to wait for this shit all this time!" He laughed exasperated, passing his fingers through his hair as he tried to calm down.
"Babe..." The blond man tried to get closer to the purple-haired one. "I'm sorry for taking this long to tell you, but I didn't..."
"Ya didn't trust me?" He chuckles and takes a step back, refusing to be touched by the other. "Don't make me laugh, Patton." A low growl could be heard after the name.
"I... How did you know?" The moral side was taken aback by the way his... probably ex-partner said his name. "What I mean is... it's not that I don't trust ya... It's just that your presence... Well..." He sighed, it was a hard topic to touch and the attitude taken by the other man was making Patton extremely uncomfortable.
"You have no idea how much I waited for these words, Patton." Virgil smiled, his cheeks red and puffed by full nights of crying. "I'm glad you're finally telling me what I thought all this time..."
"Virgil, don't do that..." Patton looked down, his heart ached as he tried to understand the weight of those words 'I waited for these words' What? Did he know? It's not possible, he hasn't told anyone anything!
"Listen, Patton... I'm tired of feeling like this!" He let go of a faux laugh and shake his head, "I'm tired of being patient, of being kind and empathetic. For once I just want to let go of everything I think and feel. And right now? Everything about you makes me angry."
"Talking about you? That's new..." Patton replied sarcastically, rolling his eyes. "It's not my fault you made me feel like that months ago!" He huffed, his heart pounding so hard he felt like it was going to explode.
"Oh, excuse me, I forgot with you it doesn't fucking matter that someone apologizes! That they genuinely feel bad and change. It just matters that you felt bad MONTHS AGO." Virgil shouted, the rage in his voice could be heard all the place.
"You fucked with my brain, with my trust. I can't just forgive you!" Patton growled fixing his glasses and huffing. "And even if you changed... I can't just... Move on, y'know?"
"Then go." Virgil sighed, tired of being the bad guy again. "Fucking go and don't come back. If you want a bad guy for your fucking fairytale, here I am."
"Stop trying to be a martyr, Virgil." Patton cut him off, growing angrier and angrier. "I stayed because you were trying to change! Because I loved you so deeply I didn’t want this to just... finish."
"Are you kidding me?" He laughed, shaking his head. "You don't even love me anymore, you are here because you are so afraid of being alone..." He stopped completely, shocked at his own words. "I didn't mean to say that, I'm sorry-"
"You are right, I'm scared of the loneliness that will follow this breakup. I'm sorry I could never top Roman's love." Patton replied bitterly. "And maybe I stopped loving you that way but I swear to god I never stopped caring for you, loving our time together..." He finally added after some seconds of thinking.
"I wish I could believe you..." Virgil smiled a pained and sad smile at Patton, he could still remember the day everything went wrong.
After a month of stressful anxiety, he had a massive breakdown and everything was too much for him, sadly, Patton was also very stressed and needy and their personalities weren't good together in that type of scenario.
Virgil tried to escape Patton, hiding and lying every time he got, why Patton couldn't just leave him alone?! So, what happened next was just a cause-and-effect situation...
After half an hour of crying, Patton finally came to Virgil "Are you mad at me? I'm sorry if I did anything... I just need you..." He sobbed softly, cleaning his tears with the sleeve of his sweater.
"Patton... P-Please, I'm... I'm not in a g-good mood right now..." The purple-haired replied, anxiety rising with each word, he was semi-verbal and stressed, he couldn't handle this conversation but...
"Vee-vee... Please, I need you and I feel so lonely..." He tried to get closer to his partner, his chest hurt so bad and he needed his partner.
"Just- Shut up, why don't you leave me alone?! I-I'm so tired of you and how fuckin' needy y-you get, it's not my f-fault nobody else wants you around!" He shouted desperately, hiding in his hoodie and trying to breathe at a normal pace.
"What...?" Patton was stunned, did his partner just say that?! Fuck was going on? "I... I'm sorry I..." His head was going insane, his chest was aching and the person he trusted the most just attacked him. Without any noise, he left slowly, his tears clouding his sight as he walked away.
"F-Fuck..." Virgil tried to walk towards Patton, but it was too late, he fucked up. With the last strength he had, he walked towards his bed, he couldn't feel anything else, just pain. "Fuck..fuckfuck." A spike of adrenaline filled his body, making him shake and shiver. His whole body started itching and the feeling of guilt drowned his mind. So he stayed there, in his bed, for the following 36 hours.
"Please, believe me..." Patton whimpered bringing Virgil back to reality. "We could do better, we could change!" A smile was intended, but a sad deep sigh was all that could come out of Patton's lips.
"I'm sorry, Patton." Virgil sighed, these months were hell for him and he couldn't do it anymore. The pain of Patton's lies and the guilt he felt were enough to drive him insane. He loved Patton but... He loved himself more.
"Verge..." The last try, Patton thought, it's just one last try. "Please, I know these few months were a little bad but we can do it!" He smiled weakly and tried to approach his partner.
"Patton, these few months were hell for me, I couldn't sleep, I felt like absolute SHIT." Virgil started walking backward again. "You need to understand..." He sighed, trying to calm down. "You are not the only one in this relationship, I also felt it, all the cold shoulders, all the fake kisses, everything."
"But... I tried to make you happy, I wasn't sure why these feelings came and how to get rid of 'em..." Patton replied truthfully, feeling bad for lying. "I thought if I faked a little I would feel the same"
"But you didn't." Virgil sighed, looking at Patton in the eyes. "And it hurt... Every word, every kiss... God, it was all my fault, Pat."
"I'm so sorry..." Patton bite his inner cheek and looked at Virgil, trying to smile gently. "I wanted this to work..."
"I did too, but I guess we weren't meant to be." He finally smiled softly, slowly understanding that this was the end. "It will be hard to get used to us being apart but we can do it. It's the h..healthier thing, right?"
"It is... Logan and Janus would be proud of us." Patton left out a small chuckle. "So... This is it?"
"Yeah... I think it is. Goodbye, Patton." He touched Patton's shoulder, giving him a small pat, and walked out the room.
"G'bye, Vee..." Patton replied, staying in the empty room alone, the touch in his shoulder hurt like a punch. "I'll miss you..." He sighed, caressing his arms and walking away too.
Maybe this was for the best, but still... It hurt like hell.

“Logan calling from Logan Incorporated, report to work immediately. This is urgent! Hurry up now.”
Virgil snuggled closer to Roman’s chest, trying to ignore their answering machine. He was not going to let their boss ruin his precious time for sleep.
Barely even 5 minutes later, Logan called again. Despite every brain cell telling Roman to ignore it again, he rolled over while cursing under his breath and reached for the house phone. “What?” He growled at the phone. Three am was not the time for being polite on a call.
“Yes, hello. This is Logan from…..”
Virgil snatched the phone away from Roman before Logan had the chance to finish his introduction, “Stop it! We fucking know you are, Logan. Unless you cracked time travel or some shit like that, there better be a damn good reason to call at this horrible hour.”
“I figured out the secret to underground travel through the center of the Earth. Report to the laboratory immediately as I previously said in the phone call you two so rudely ignored the first time.”
“WHO ANSWERS THE PHONE AT…. Ow bitch.” Virgil mumbled under his breath as Roman smacked him with a pillow and grabbed the phone.
“As I was saying, come now. I’ll be waiting.” Virgil tackled Roman for the phone, tossing it across the room to hang it up.
“Fuck this job, I’m going back to sleep.”
“Come on, my emo. We have to make sure the boss man isn’t endangering himself with his so-called science experiments, again.” Roman rolled out of bed, dragging Virgil with him.
………
“Ah! You two finally arrived.” Logan’s hair was not brushed and was a complete mess. He looked like he hasn’t slept in at least four days. Virgil and Roman could not figure out why but something about Logan did not seem right.
They both started their employment at Logan Incorporated six years ago, working directly under the brilliant scientist and their best friend, Logan Sanders. Virgil and Roman met Logan during their undergrad in college. They became protect of Logan very quickly. Logan was a brilliant man but his mind could get ahead him of sometimes. Virgil and Roman were there to rain him in but that didn’t always work.
Logan’s eyes seemed to bulge out of their sockets, bloodshot red veins dragged across his bright white sclera. His left eye twitched as his hands shook. His pupils darted back and forth, paranoia filled the back of his brain.
“Why did you call us?” Virgil asked bluntly as always.
“Because… SCIENCE!” Logan said with excitement.
Virgil glared deep into Logan’s eyes, he became even more twitchy and anxious from the stare, “Elaborate or we leave.” Virgil continued to keep his eye contact but he took note of how Logan was acting uncharacteristically weird.
“I have finally, at long last cracked the secret to..”
“TIME TRAVEL!” Roman yelled in anticipation.
“Don’t be stupid, Roman. Time travel is simply impossible until I figure it out. Of course, I the great scientist Logan will eventually figure that out. But alas, the day has not been today. My lifelong project has finally made the most significant breakthrough ever…” Logan waited for excited gasps or any type of reaction. He received nothing but a tired death stare from Virgil and an excited yet worried stare from Roman, “Anyway, back to MY greatest invention ever!” He pushed a button to reveal the project he spent 15 years to date working on. A door opened to reveal a baked potato wrapped in foil on top of a table.
“Did you call us here to show us a fucking potato?” Virgil sighed, wondering why he agreed to work for Logan.
Logan looked at the potato then back at his control panel, “Shit, wrong button. That’s my dinner. Or possibly breakfast or lunch. I have no clue what time or day of the week it is. I haven’t left my lab in a few days. Is the sun still doing that thing called ummmm oh yeah rising and setting? We are getting quite off track! Back to the potato. NO! No, I mean my newest invention. Why would we still be talking about potatoes? Moving on. Now, behold the device that will change all of mankind. Or shall I say peoplekind since I want to change the lives of all people, including women and nonbinaries of the world!”
Logan pressed a second button. This time opening a large garage-style door that revealed a gigantic drill-like machine. The drill bit was at least 40 feet across and sharp enough to pierce the cold hard grow. “Bestow your eyes upon my life’s work: the potato. Damn it! That’s stuck in my head. This is the drill of all drills. With this, we will plow straight through the Earth right to the other side of the world. They all said it was impossible but I proved them all wrong!” Logan laughed hysterically on the borderline of a supervillain cackle.
Virgil rolled his eyes and pulled Roman closer to whisper in his ear, “Logan has officially lost his mind. I guess our job is trying to reel Logan in, not being his tech assistants anymore.”
Logan pressed a random series of buttons and the machine sprang into life. “Now! What everyone here has been waiting for. This is the moment that will change our lives and as a matter of fact, the WHOLE world!”
“Should we stop him, yet?” Virgil asked.
“I want to see how far he is willing to go with this.” Roman lightly chuckled.
“Job assignments. All of us still need job assignments. Virgil will be on the control panel in the laboratory. Roman will be dealing with the system overload controls. And I will have the most important job that will go down in infamy. I will be driving the drill through the center of Earth. Once I reach the other side of the world, they all will celebrate ME. Prepare on a day very soon everyone will be gathered around to celebrate me, my life, and my work!” The lights flicked on and off. Logan flinched, shielding his eyes in pain. His eyes temporarily glossed over with a confused gaze, “What was I talking about? Oh, yeah! POTATOES! Shit. That definitely was not it.”
Logan looked at Virgil, then Roman, then finally at his larger-than-life piece of machinery, “Ah, yes. I will be the first person ever to travel underground from New York City to Tokyo!” As his newest invention powered up, Logan grabbed three headsets and a heatproof suit. He slipped the suit over his lab coat and tossed his assistants their headsets, “You two will be my eyes and guides on their journey. Although I’m clearly the leading man on his scientific discovery, I will make sure you two get your fair amount of credit.” Logan coughed and mumbled under his breath, “In the footnotes.”
As Virgil and Roman set up the headsets, Logan climbed into the driver seat of his drill. “This is a bad idea. This is a bad idea.” Virgil shook his head as he programmed the floor of the laboratory to open, revealing the dirt underneath.
“Testing. Testing. Earth to Logan. Can you hear us?” Roman tapped on the microphone.
“Loud and clear.” Logan and his machine disappeared deep into the ground without another word.
“Temperature gauge is still normal. Systems are all functioning. We are good to go.” The supercomputer lit up with a map of Logan’s current position as well as the path he planned to take. Even though Logan was tethering on the edge of insanity, Roman had to admire the amount of work Logan put into his projects.
Logan turned on the turbo boosters and headed full speed into the Earth. The temperature gauge Roman was monitoring slowly started to creep to the red zone.
“Why are we letting Logan do this?” Virgil huffed as he pressed a few more buttons.
“Like we could ever convince Logan not to do something. That has worked so many times in the past.” Roman said with a laugh.
“We should have him turn back. He didn’t look like himself today.” Virgil’s mind recalled what was off with Logan a few minutes ago. “His eyes were bloodshot, he was twitching and shaking, avoiding eye contact, jumping at the slightest of noise, and looked like he doesn’t even know what the word sleep means. These experiments aren’t going to end well one day and we are gonna be responsible to clean up his mess.”
Virgil’s searched the room for an explanation of why Logan was acting the way he was. His eyes landed on broken viles spilling mercury across the lab.
Roman sighed, “I know but Logan would never listen to us anyway.” His eyes glanced back at the temperature gauge, “Uh-oh. That’s not good.”
Roman turns on his microphone, “Logan. Can you hear me?”
“I’m nearly there. I’m nearly there. I’m nearly…” Logan repeated that phrase over and over again. He sounded like he was stuck in a trance.
“You need to turn around now! The temperature is getting way too hot. Your machine is overheating!” Roman yelled into the headset. Virgil rapidly tried to enable the machine’s autopilot but Logan disabled it.
“Logan let me override the system! Give me the control.” Tears streamed down Virgil’s cheek. He had a feeling about where this was going.
“NO. I’M SO CLOSE. WE ARE NOT STOPPING NOW.” Logan ignored the smoldering heat and the yelling of his assistants. His logic and rationality were nowhere to be seen.
Roman typed in the code to override Logan’s directions and try to turn him around. The system flashed red, a warning of the danger Logan was in.
SYSTEM FAILURE. SYSTEM FAILURE. SYSTEM FAILURE. SYSTEM FAILURE.
Right lights swirled around the lab and a blaring alarm sounded. The room filled with panic from both Virgil and Roman.
“I see the center of the Earth. I’m so close!” Sweat dripped down Logan’s face. The drill melted and started to power down.
“Please turn around. You have made it further than anyone else. Don’t let this experiment consume you and take your life.” Virgil cried out, hoping to strike some common sense in Logan.
“The world will celebrate me when I’m…” Logan’s voice cut out as all the computers crashed.
“LOGAN! ANSWER US IF YOU ARE ALIVE.” Roman screamed at the broken computer. He knew Logan was never coming back but part of him still hoped for the best.
Virgil’s lip trembled and he collapsed into Roman’s arms.
………
One week later, Virgil and Roman held a memorial service in Logan’s laboratory. It was a very small service. Logan never had many friends, he pushed away his family, and never had a partner. He only ever had his co-workers, acquaintances, and his assistants. Logan would never admit it but Virgil and Roman were his only friends.
The week after Logan died was the hardest on Virgil and Roman, since they worked closely with Logan for many years. They spent the last week cleaning the lab and finding a safe way to dispose of the mercury. But with crying, lots of crying. Most of the past week Virgil and Roman refused to leave each other’s arms from the fear of losing another friend.
A picture of Logan was hung on the wall with blue flowers surrounding it.
Five people gather to mourn the brilliant scientist Logan Sanders. A man in a gold and yellow suit with scars across his face kept his head low. Tears rolled down a freckled face with round glasses. The third man’s mustache formed a frown over his face.
Roman held Virgil tightly, “We gather here today to celebrate Logan, his life, and his work. Logan was the smartest man I ever had the pleasure of working for. He is now officially the first person to go that deep into the Earth. I hope wherever he is now, that gives him some joy. Goodbye Logan. You will be missed.”
Virgil pressed the button to close the hole in the floor to symbolize burying Logan. As the metal floor closed the five men hugged each other tightly while letting their tears fall.

This is the first thing I posted on my AO3 and I hope you all enjoy it too. Please give me some feedback. Lol. Dark and Anti might be OOC but idk. This was the first thing I wrote about them as well.
I made this fanfiction for the third year anniversary of Sanders Sides! It’s just some prinxiety and logicality fluff so... enjoy!
Summary: Basically just cuddles.
Pairings: Prinxiety, Logicality, Demus (not as much as the others tho) (They can all be either platonic or romantic doesn’t really affect it very much)
-------
The sides were all in Thomas’ living room together. They were re-watching the entire series of Sanders Sides altogether, and cringing at some of the things said or done.
“Why did I ever think it was a good idea to wear such a boring outfit?” Roman kept saying under his breath.
“Hey, at least you actually had colour.” Virgil replied, looking at the screen in horror as he saw how much black he had been wearing. “Why did you guys let me wear that?”
“We certainly tried to convince you to wear more hues, but you simply denied our prepositions.” Logan replied, also not taking his eyes off the screen.
Virgil grumbled and threw his hood over his head, trying his best to get rid of the cringe he felt at that moment.
“Come on guys! You were all knew to this whole “YouTube” thing and were trying your best,” Thomas tried assuring them. “It doesn’t matter how you looked then, now you guys have better outfits that suit you.”
“Besides, these videos are hilarious!” Remus laughed. “Seriously, what were you guys thinking? I mean, Roman and Virgil, you basically flirted during the entire video of Dark Sides of Disney.”
Virgil went scarlet and stuttered, trying to deny the obvious, while Roman just sat there, also very red.
“Can it Charlie Frown.” (”I already used that one.” Roman huffed.) Remus said, watching as past Roman fangirled (fanboyed?) about Thomas being in a Disney show.
“Shh!” Patton shushed them all, trying to focus on what was happening on screen.
They all fell quiet for a couple of videos, occasionally hearing a groan form one of the sides when something particularly embarrassing happened.
After a couple of more episodes Thomas looked over to his sides and smiled at what he saw.
Virgil was leaning his head on Roman’s shoulder, who had his arm wrapped around him protectively. He saw the faintest of smiles lingering on the “dark” sides’ face. Roman had a huge grin plastered to his face, and leaned in closer to the smaller trait.
Meanwhile, Patton had crawled onto Logan’s lap and was sitting there watching the screen while his head leaned on Logan’s chest. Logan had wrapped his arms around the father-like trait and put his chin on the other’s head. It was beyond adorable.
And - this was surprising to Thomas - he also saw Remus and Deceit showing the slightest bit of affection. Deceit was sitting on the floor leaning on the couch with Remus laying next to him with his head on Deceit’s lap. Deceit was using one had to comb his fingers through Remus’ hair and the other was holding one of the dark sides’ hands.
Thomas smiled at them all and continued watching the screen.
They were all content staying that way for the rest of the night. Virgil leaning more and more into Roman, and Roman pulling Virgil closer more and more. Patton struggling to stay awake, and Logan telling him quietly to get some rest. Remus, smiling up at Deceit, and Deceit smiling back down at him gently.
It was a peaceful night, and it was one they wished would last forever.
-------
Was it good? I hope so. Anyway, this is my way of contributing to Sanders Sides’ three year anniversary! I absolutely love what Thomas has managed to do and am very excited for the videos yet to come. Thank you for reading this and have an amazing day! <3
