During the pandemic Tropic as a brand thought more about how they can give more where they can, without expecting anything in return. This belief has driven much of the content created for you and also the products made, such as the, Calm Balms and original hand sanitiser. It’s also the thinking applied the Keep It Clean Hand Sanitiser and Helping Hands Collection, which are a way to make a positive difference in the world.

100% of the profits from the Hand Sanitiser and 50% of the profits from the Helping Hands Collection will be donated to the Trussell Trust.

Introducing the Trussell Trust

The Trussell Trust is a charity that supports a nationwide network of food banks. They help provide emergency food and support to people locked in poverty, and campaign for change to end the need for food banks in the UK.

In April 2020, when the nation went into lockdown, food banks in The Trussell Trust network saw a staggering 89% increase in need, including a 107% increase in the number of children receiving emergency food parcels compared to the previous year. The unparalleled speed and scale of the increase in people needing food banks shows how fragile people’s safety nets are.

In the UK, more than 14 million people are living in poverty – including 4.5 million children. And the pandemic is only going to put an additional strain on people’s finances.

The Trussell Trust supports more than 1,200 food bank centres in the UK to provide a minimum of three days’ nutritionally-balanced emergency food to people who have been referred to them in crisis, as well as helping people resolve the crises they face.

They also bring together the experiences of food banks in their network to challenge the structural economic issues that lock people in poverty, and campaign to end the need for food banks in the UK.

Just like the Trussell Trust, Tropic believe no one in the UK should be pushed into poverty and hunger, which is why we’ve chosen to support this important cause.
