anita was doing her best to familiarize herself with the town, it was a lot to take in, but she was grateful to have her dog at least. perdita was a good dog, anita always felt lucky to have her. as she sat in the park on a bench with perdy by her feet, she opened up her book and began reading until she could see someone sit beside her out of the corner of her eye. “ oh, hi there. how’s it going ? ”

“  actually, i used to come here with my parents when i was much younger, so i know the place well enough, i just don’t know how i got here this time,  ”  eric explained, shaking his head slightly. he wished that he did know, though. he also had his own home on his mind, and ariel, of course. had she been saved ? he hoped she was okay, that he had been successful in stopping ursula’s wrath.

rapunzel found havenfall interesting, yet simultaneously overwhelming. there was so much she hadn’t seen before arriving there, it was just a lot for her to take in. “ can i ask you what you think of this place ? ”  she asked the person across from her, a slight smile spreading across her lips.

kate knew she was in new york, but she didn’t know where the hell havenfall was. she’d never once heard of it in thirty one years of life. she felt on edge in the town, with no way of contacting any of the people she cared about. kate tended to keep to herself, she avoided her home as much as she possibly could, not wanting to speak to any of the complete strangers she’d been forced to live with. they weren’t her friends, and she didn’t know if she could trust them, either. she was off duty that day, and found herself venturing into the woods, hoping some solitude would give her some comfort. it didn’t take her long to sense that she wasn’t exactly alone out there, she quickly turned around to focus on the unfamiliar presence, gaze refusing to leave the stranger. “ who are you ? what brings you out into these woods ? ”

“ you know, hales, i’ve been thinking about getting a cat. i live with a bunch of strangers and it’s just really odd. they’re not you, or peyton or sam or even julian.... it’s just a bunch of people whose stories i don’t know, and it just makes me feel so alone. this place is never going to be tree hill, and i just want to feel a little less alone. ”

“ you know, i know this place isn’t exactly home, but i think i could at least get used to it eventually. i know it’ll take some work, but i think it’s a nice enough place to settle down in. after all, i don’t think we’re going to be able to leave anytime soon, so we might as well be able to enjoy ourselves while we’re here, right ? we have a nice home, even if it’s not exactly the palace, it’s still a great home. ”

“  thank you again for coming here tonight, i really appreciate it. i just didn’t want to spend another night completely alone. i mean, i suppose i’m not fully alone since i have perdy, but it’s nice to be able to have a conversation with someone and actually get a response back.  ”

“  i say we just order junk food, get some wine and enjoy our night. it sounds much more appealing than sitting here being miserable.  ”
