“ nothing’s changed then. ” back on the island, growing up as more a servant than a son in jafar’s house and shop, he hears that judgment almost every day: not smart enough (how am i supposed to do well in school if you never let me do the work and if i miss more days for work than i attend?), not magical enough (you never taught me any of the spells or the potions, even if it never would have done any good), not embracing your ‘destiny’ enough (you never told me anything about agrabah, about our homeland, except for what involved you). now, years later, it’s just like he knew it would be: the exact same, maybe worse because he well and truly ‘betrayed’ jafar now. he’s found him — he and gaston teaming up to track down their wayward sons with the barricade destroyed — and it’s time for whatever judgment he decides best. “ pretty sure it wasn’t easy for you to find me though — pretty sure you wouldn’t have done it just to remind me what you think of me. ” then again, maybe jafar just wants to get rid of jay himself — do what he probably wishes he’d done long ago.
