We only saw Edward Dillinger Jr. for like a total of two minutes, and I'm running with a long line of headcannons in my next fic.
He is fired from Encom as a scapegoat for the software leaking to the internet for free
He loved his sister
He hates his nephew
He has been plotting and waiting to bring the downfall of Encom
He has been working at Dillinger Systems either in cybersecurity or development working backdoors into the systems and connecting Dillinger Systems to Encom
He is the reason the system boots back up in time for Julian to use the lasers to transfer to the Grid
In my wip, Ed hates that Encom dropped him and ruined his career. He could be the CTO right now, but the chairman was too chickenshit to admit that a kid got one over on him. He hates Julian for ruining the Dillinger name and tanking the company. He also blames him directly for Elisabeth's death.
I headcannon that when Julian picks up Sark's identity disk, they merge. Julian gains Sark's memories and processes, including obeying the User who commands him. (This brings up a lot of body-horror type angst when Julian finds himself responding in Sark-like ways over his own ways.) I also am writing it so that Ed is the reason Sark's disc is presented in the first place so Julian picks it up.
Also, because Julian is rewritten in such a way, he is subject to the 29 minute limiter. (Which is, of course, what they will work to get. In order to separate from Sark and come back to the real world, Julian will need to bring Ed the Permanence Code to fix him.)
