so dunn has said the n-word over a year ago and people are only finding about it NOW? like i am sorry but that’s extremely alarming. the fact that people knew and didn’t care enough to say anything, is extremely concerning.
and i don’t think that people realize that it truly doesn’t even matter whether this guy was drunk or high off of his mind. no amount of alcohol or drugs in your system makes you say racist derogatory slurs. an intoxicated tongue speaks what a sober mind thinks.
if you truly want to be an ally to black people, you seriously need to stop to be so willing to defend these men. because in reality, most of these people probably use derogatory words and slurs. whether it’s against black people, other people of color, women, the lgbtq+ community.
hockey’s toxicity and bigotry is SO DEEPLY rooted not only amongst the players but also amongst the fans. this is why we say “hockey is not for everyone” because it truly is not, when players like this are on the ice and fans like this are in the stands.
