Well this is a familiar sight ๐ฅบ Slipped on wet floor on Wed {25 Aug 2021} and twisted my right knee in a weird way so injured it again. Inflamed and hurt real bad. First day really suckedโฆ kept icing and could barely move/ put pressure on the right leg. Then I tried the boyโs RLT device on Day 2. Man, that thing really works! Felt noticeably better after just the first try and after twice a day treatment, I can even hobble to the club gym to do my upper body prog a few days later {Sat 28 Aug 2021} ๐ฅฒ I was very bummed when I first got injured coz my DL was increasing steadily, and my goal weight was within sight. Having an injury like this means tt I need to be on #hospitalprogramme again for maybe a few weeks at best, or maybe even months. A faster recovery like this does give me hope though {but still gotta be very cautious}.. Iโd attribute it to using RLT, maybe cycling more ๐ค as well as the #kneerehab program tt Superman had me on for the past few months which Iโm sure strengthened my knees. Itโs a freak accident outside the gym which sucks but ah well.. itโs not like I havenโt been here before. Iโve been doing stairs again for cardio ๐ฅต but today is the first time that I walk down, instead of just climbing up & taking the lift downโฆ I remember when my knees were injured I was very apprehensive and cautious even going down one step๐ถ๐ปโโ๏ธ Today, I hardly even thought abt it and could even go down slightly fast. My knees havenโt been โcrackingโ or swollen for some time too. Thought I could have a peaceful, uninterrupted early morning ride on the PCN today by leaving super early.. but apparently half of Singapore had the same idea ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ Still, it was pretty satisfying to explore new places by bike on my own ๐ด๐ผโโ๏ธ๐ Earlier this week I tweaked my back again which left me kinda down as itโll affect my workouts and training. Iโm lifting much heavier again for DLs and the thought of starting all over again made me wanna cry ๐ญ Up and down, up and down.. there really is only so much one can take... Anyway until Wed it felt pretty awful and I thought Iโd be out for a long time but miraculously, yesterday felt relatively good and today it seems almost 90% healed??! First time doing DB 20kg for shoulder press! ๐ช๐ป๐ช๐ป๐ช๐ป New PR?? Canโt remember what my heaviest weight at Genesis was but I donโt think I hit this weight before ๐ค๐ค๐ค Like the rest of my exercises, thereโs been a lot of stops and restarts due to various reasons like injuries, strains {currently nursing a right wrist strain}, overtraining of body parts etc but Iโm glad to have made it up to here ๐ This was actually after my first working set {18.2kg} which looked & felt pretty good so Superman asked if I wanted to test for 20kg. I said why not? ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ So we did and yay, I did it! First rep is kinda shakey but still strong enough to go for a second. 4 years in the making to lift 80kg for deadlifts again ๐ช๐ป Lots of stops and re-starts, lots of frustrations and pain, lots of prehab, rehab and recovery work, but finally, my back injury is under control and Iโm finally making consistent progress to be stronger again ๐ Thank you Superman for being such an attentive and supportive coach ๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป He was more excited than me actually for hitting this weight and was the one who suggested taking this video haha...
