I also loved The Heat for the same reasons. Melissa's character was sexual. She'd had many past lovers who just couldn't let go and it was hilarious. Not because she was fat, but because these men were just heartbroken over her and she just didn't give a shit. The whole point of a 'fat' heroine is that it COULD be played exactly the same by a skinny girl, but it's not. It's not her defining characteristic. Now we just need 100 more Melissa McCarthy's.
