Bufoonery in #TrejahWorld tonight. I take full responsibility for this. Lol In homeschool, i made him watch some videos on Africa and obviously he was taken aback when we stumbled on The #Zo’é, a small, isolated tribe living deep in the Amazon rainforests of north Brazil who plug their low lip/chin. From a young age all Zo’é wear the ‘m’berpót’ – the long wooden plug inserted into the lower lip. One of the most important ceremonies, and a rite of passage for children, is the piercing of the lower lip. A sharp bone from a spider monkey’s leg is used, and a tiny ‘m’berpót’ is inserted, usually when girls are about seven and boys about nine years old. As they grow older, larger plugs are inserted.... Needless to say, I was throwed off by his words. Especially the "you people, you Africans" part..but I was laughing like hell. My son is crazy. Just like his parents..lmao. We going in hard on history and culture this week in #homeschool. He's only 7 but #no Bufoonery & #Nomockery of other people's culture. Plus he mixing up #Brazilian with #African smh. Tomorrow he's gonna know everything there is to know about the Zo'e tribe and why they have wood in their chin.... By the way, Another interesting fact about the Zo'e. The Zo’é are polygamous, and both men and women may have more than one partner....ummm I guess I'll be explaining to him what polygamous is very soon. #staytuned #omg
