These are cool! I’ve never seen tree climbing spurs before today. A coworker asked me to redo the strap on his set. These have seen a lot of abuse and what looks like neglect of the leather, which is probably why the strap broke. He wants them functional again and he’s said that everyone he’s asked has turned him down. I think I know why, they basically need to be totally remade but That’s not my concern. I’m more concerned that if I take this on, someone will be putting their life in my hands. Of course I hope he climbs with safety in mind and uses more than just spurs but I do not want my work to be the reason he gets hurt. It also looks like this was hand made or at least handstitched.
