Thanks for the question! I’ll be addressing this in the story very soon but because you took the time to ask me, I’m going to answer it here too.
At this point, time travel is considered scientifically impossible - it has never been done before and the theory is flimsy. No one really takes it seriously.
Over the years, lots of people have picked up the resemblance between Darcy and Lily, how they look alike, but there is no evidence of any sort of relation between them, their family backgrounds (Darcy’s real one and the fake one Howard made) don’t overlap anywhere.
There is literally nothing to connect these two women other than their physical appearance. And as we know even here in the real world, sometimes people are born who really do look like someone else. Like all those memes about how Keanu Reeves and Nic Cage look like people from history...
So yeah, its considered weird. But that’s about it.
