“Soooo, do you guys have like, a name besides Green Lantern that you guys call each other in field or are you guys all just numbered or something? I feel like shouting Green Lantern at each other could get hella confusing.” Kon babbled from where he was floating crossed legged in Kyle’s green forcefield bubble.

The one thing that wasn’t altered even a little bit is her love of being off of the ground, of being IN FLIGHT.  It’s engrained DEEP in her BONES even if these days the FLYING sometimes happens without a JET.  ( Or AIR –––––––– )

& space seems ENDLESS. 

Or at least it SHOULD.  It feels LESS SO when you run into a FAMILIAR FACE.  Carol pulls up short & reaches out, mimicking the motion of manually rolling down A CAR WINDOW.

HAL IS USED TO GETTING THROWN FOR A LOOP,     but the last thing he expects is the cover getting pulled off what looks like an ancient jewelry box to leave him with a headache so sudden, it feels as though someone has taken a jackhammer to the side of his skull.

The crowd seems pretty occupied at the moment and it’s a good thing, too, because there are currently green sparks flying out of his ring.

As Hal takes a step the room seems almost to pitch and tilt, that same heat on his Ring finger suddenly emanating from the ear that houses his construct cochlear implant.

Oh, this ain’t good.

It takes a fair bit of elbowing his way through the gaggles of guests before Hal finally spots Kyle.

HE’S CROUCHING, soles of his feet planted on the rooftop with the kind of stillness granted to him by a lifetime in the ashram. the weight of his QUIVER reminds him that this isn’t a social call and   ——   if connor were being honest   ——   he’d much rather be munching on a veggie burger from the new vegan spot down the street. still            connor couldn’t ignore the way the kid’s shoulders hunched forward, the way he’d folded in on himself as he was crowded by a group of men twice his age.

he had a BAD FEELING about this.

connor watches them disappear into the next building. the bulkiest of them is left to stand guard over the door in typical bad guy fashion.   ‘  the door               ’   a slight pause.  he’d forgotten just how much kyle GLOWED.   ‘   if you think about it   ——   a  GREEN LANTERN is probably not the most  ideal  candidate to bring along a stealth mission.   ’

❛ Mmmhm, ❜ Hill hums, perpetually UNIMPRESSED. Lips purse, eyes are narrowed as she parses the expression on the other’s face. So young and so earnest. It falls just SHY of her bullshit-meter.
