R.I.P. Traxide

This place was such an important staple of the Montreal punk and metal community. It meant so much to me and to my bandmates and so many others. It was a place that allowed us in Mistwalker as well as Ratpiss to really gain a foothold here in Montreal, to meet people, whether music fans, other cool bands, or new friends, sometimes all three. The amount of weekends we spent here, sweating through our denim in the summer or freezing our asses off in the winter, cannot be overstated. It wasn’t a perfect place, and it was not above criticism, but it was something special that can never be replaced. It will truly be missed.

I want to give a special fuck you to the people responsible for causing this place to close through ignoble, selfish actions and a sincere thank you to the real ones who tried to save it from an untimely demise.
