Xenopurge Launches Soon on Steam Early Access
Xenopurge the intense tactical auto-battler, is set to expand its battlefield with upcoming support for Linux, Steam Deck, and Windows PC. Thanks to the creative talents of developer Traptics for cranking up the intensity. Working to find its way onto Steam Early Access soon. Lock and load, commanders — it’s almost time to suit up. If you’ve been itching for something tactical, chaotic, and dripping in gritty retro-futuristic charm, the auto-battler release is coming in hot, due to deliver all of that and more. On July 11th, publisher Firesquid and developer Traptics are unleashing Xenopurge into Early Access on Steam — and yes, Linux players, we’re in the fight too.
...we do plan to support linux and steam deck but that is gonna be added during EA.
While Xenopurge is powered by Unity — a solid choice for cross-platform game development — the devs are focusing on Windows PC only during Early Access. So, don’t expect native support just yet. But here's the good news: the full release is planned before the end of 2025. Due to leave a nice open window for a proper Linux and Steam Deck port down the line. In the meantime? Proton’s your best friend.
Xenopurge - Release date Trailer
After getting attention during its successful Steam Next Fest run. Xenopurge is marching straight into Early Access like a squad that’s seen some things — and lived to tell the tale. For anyone craving a fresh take on squad-based tactics, this hybrid of roguelike strategy and auto-battler madness is one to watch.
So What’s Xenopurge All About?
You’re not the one holding the gun — you’re the one pulling the strings. You play as a high-ranking officer at M.A.C.E. (Mercer’s Advanced Combat Enterprises), barking orders from a retro command console that looks like it was pulled straight from an '80s sci-fi fever dream. Your squad? Brave. Tough. Maybe a little expendable. They’ll follow orders, shoot what moves, and try their best not to die — but without your coordination, they’re toast. You’ll build, outfit, and command them as they drop into alien-infested zones that are just oozing with danger (and profit).
What’s in the Early Access Release?
When Xenopurge hits Early Access, here’s what you’ll be getting in the game:
2 playable squads with different combat vibes
20 tactical commands to turn the tide mid-fight
25 gear pieces, from brutal melee tools to long-range death-dealers
3 difficulty levels, so whether you’re green or grizzled, there’s a challenge for you
Even better, the demo returns on launch day, giving players a replayable mini-campaign to test their tactics and learn the ropes before diving into the full experience.
War Is Hell — But It’s Also on Sale
Xenopurge launches at $12.49 USD / £10.99 / 12,49€, with a 20% discount at release to celebrate the deployment via Steam Early Access. That drops the price to under $10 — a steal for this kind of high-stakes tactical auto-battler action. And don’t worry — this is just the beginning. Traptics is planning regular content drops throughout Early Access. Due to offer more squads, missions, weapons, and enemies rolling out ahead of the 1.0 launch later this year. So, if you're a fan of sci-fi, tactics, or just enjoy watching things explode while you issue orders from behind the safety of a glowing green monitor — Xenopurge is your next mission. Grab your command console, on Steam Deck and Linux warriors — it's time to purge some xenos.
