Do you have any transmaid tips ,,, we're rlly bad at cleaning our room due to energy levels >-< but we'd adore ways to be more maid-like... for ourselves
Here you go!💐🪡🧽🧹
- the uniform! a maid dress, apron, headpiece, or skirt could help get you into the maid headspace, but isn't required! even just finding an article of clothing that you like (and is relatively practical) and designating it your maid uniform can help you gather the energy to clean and tell your brain that it is cleaning time!
- have a set time for cleaning and maintenance, either the time of day or length of time you spend. this helps your brain overcome executive dysfunction and fear of exhaustion by assuring it that you won't have to work hard for a long time. listen to your body and don't overwork yourself, wearing yourself out makes it harder for you to clean in the future and is just unpleasant! start with small increments and slowly increase it if you can tolerate it, even just 15 minutes of cleaning a day is good progress!
- get cleaning equipment that you like and makes you happy, whether that's cute patterns, good efficiency, or matching an existing aesthetic you have. also, if it's helpful for you, mobility aids and assistive devices like range extenders that help you clean and are cute can motivate you to use them and reduce the energy needed! you could also get objectum about it if you're into that! your mop and trash can are your friends here to help!
- watch cleaning videos, cleaning product reviews, and maid media. maybe keep notes on tips, products, and reminders that help you! you may also benefit from learning about spoon theory if you haven't heard of that!
- arrange your room to facilitate cleaning, such as keeping trash cans near where you make trash, keeping your cleaning supplies easily accessible, and rearranging furniture so you don't have to struggle to reach any areas. small changes like air freshener, fresh flowers in a vase, opening a window, and changing the trash can help your space feel cleaner and are good starts to doing more. if you're overwhelmed by the state of your room, try just cleaning one small area or doing one task. seeing progress will help your brain see that it's not impossible!
- if it helps you, seek out a friend to either encourage you to clean and be a maid, be a maid with you and help you clean up your room, or body double for you either in person or over the internet! you could also pretend you are being a maid and cleaning someone else's room, a friend or character or just not yourself, if helping others motivates you.
- your space is for you and should help you live, cleaning is self care and love. being a maid is committing to caring for yourself and your environment!
- if it is helpful you could have a BDSM submission mindset with it, even if you aren't doing it with a partner. there are a lot of maidkink posts on tumblr that can help give you ideas, and more traditional BDSM 24/7 dynamics can mirror maidness! affirm that you are being a good maid by cleaning, you are doing what you're made to do and doing it well, and taking care of yourself out of love.
I hope this helps (and that I wasn't projecting my own issues with cleaning too much 😅)!
