The Tabasco law, passed on a 22-8 vote on Monday, uses verbal gymnastics to try to avoid including traditional snacks in the ban. The Tabasco law “prohibits the sale, distribution, giving, supply or donation of bottled sugary drinks, carbonated sugary drinks, sweets and snacks prepared with mainly refined carbohydrates and solid vegetable fats that contain transfats.” It may be a long haul to enforce the new law, because many packaged snack foods like Doritos chips have already been firmly integrated into Mexican food culture, with “Dorilocos” now a staple at Mexican parks. Preparing “Dorilocos” involves splitting open a bag and adding as many as a dozen ingredients to the chips, some healthy — like celery or tomato — and some decidedly not so, like salted nuts or gummy bears.

My dumb ass: Ah yes, this food contains only CisGender Fats™
#TransFatTuesdays
Notice: #transfatuesdays are on hold for now due to the mod not having time to do themed days
Every Tuesday at transmasculineselfielove and nbselfielove is reserved for celebrating body size diversity and talking about fatphobia in our communities.
If you’d like to share a selfie, submit it or tag it with #transfattuesdays!
Please remember that these blogs prioritize POC, indigenous, disabled, and other marginalized people. Also, weight loss talk is never welcome on these blogs.
Looking forward to seeing your beautiful faces!
As a fat curvy trans person, it was extremely hard to love myself growing up. Having a really large chest made everything worse as I was sexualized at a really young age. I never saw my body represented outside of like, fetish art. Trans people are so often desexualized, and I think I internalized that rhetoric bc I felt extremely guilty and dysphoric about having an "inherently sexual" body. Its lead to really unhealthy habits and even eating disorders so that I could get the "ideal" trans body
Thank you for sharing. These kinds of stories are hard to read, but important for us to talk about.
This is part of a conversation on fatphobia in the trans community.

I’ll send anyone anything as long as you send me at least 20$
Behold, my goon collection
I’m so fucked
I realize I’m coming up with this idea a little late, but how about we make Tuesdays #TransFatTuesdays? I want to give fat folks like myself a spotlight, and I don’t want our conversations about fatphobia to die out and get forgotten.
Fat trans folks will be reblogged every day, but #TransFatTuesdays will be just for fat trans folks, and we’ll encourage submissions from fat folks on those days.
I’ll see if I can put together a good queue for tomorrow! Tag your selfies with #TransFatTuesdays to participate! But please remember that, as always, this blog centers on POC before white folks, so if I get a flood of white people submitting/tagging for Tuesdays, you might not all be posted.
Let me know if you have any feedback, comments, suggestions, or questions?
