First of all do you have rights at your place of work? Please look into this is it state by state and determine if it is safe for you to come out at work.

I would suggest if you can possibly sit down and have an open minded conversation with your boss, pulling them aside one day and doing so. Even if is taking them out to lunch.

You can also write a letter, don’t be overly emotional, be to the point and provide links, tell them you are coming out to them so you can be more comfortable and open in your work environment and it will be a great relief in your life to not have to hide who you are.
