But one scene stuck in my mind. So picture this: High school au where Lan Wangji is trans but not out yet, not even to Wei Wuxian.

They're high school sweethearts, got together in freshman year and stayed together ever since. Prom king and queen, the whole shebang. I had this image of Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian after prom, still dressed up with their crowns and sashes, making out in Wei Wuxian's car.

And Wei Wuxian keeps going on "my queen, my queen" etc, being all cute and flirty. And it's just driving a knife deeper and deeper into Lan Wangji. He doesn't want to be in this super frilly dress and be Wei Wuxian's queen but he's scared and he doesn't know what to do.
