Gen furrowing only one brow... the 'dead' messenger just straight up getting up and leaving lol... the sailing vocabulary... no OF COURSE Eddis' Minister of War didn't come to receive Attolia at the pickup location, he'd have to restrain himself from killing her... the retelling of the same events from different perspectives...like what happened in the dungeon... Oxe Harbrea Sacrus Vax Dragga... ow...
Makes me outright JEALOUS of this intelligent writing.
Like, when I write, I don't exactly plan things out, you see? I usually have the One Scene™ and then have to let the story simmer and come to me... can take years. And then it usually has gorgeous action sequences (but not researched, which means inaccurate) and very emotionally taxing scenes but without katharsis. How does an author who clearly did her research also have simply brilliant plot ideas that make it seem like she didn't have to research??? MWT is a strategist, and I unironically wonder if she'd make a gifted war commander irl.
Seldom have I desired to read more than one book or saga from the same author, because often people cannot live up to the original work that made them famous. Which is fine. Have read one, have read them all. But with MWT??? GIMME.
