you're the main reason he's trying to stay out of jail. because if he goes back, he won't be able to see you. maybe they'll grant conjugal visits, but would you even want to continue being with him at that point? it's a big worry for him
you're also the main reason he's striving to earn money. he's never had a lot of it and all he wants is to be able to afford to treat you to extravagancy, even if that isn't what you're about. he wants to buy you some nice jewellery and take you on nice vacations, which he has talked about in a lone confessional before
as if he wasn't the main guy in the park before, he sure feels it with you on his arm. he likes walking around just so people can see him with you and he can get an ego boost (which he doesn't need lbr)
you pointing out when he's being a jerk to ricky. it's a sensitive subject for him because it makes him feel like an asshole. but he's selfish sometimes, and he needs to hear it from the person he cares about the most

he tries to keep it a secret from ricky at first, because rick can get a little bit jealous if he's seeing a girl. but you get along with him really well, so he's actually pretty psyched for you both when he finds out, if a bit annoyed at julian for not telling him
